(Patch note for today) Pirate Capital NPCs have been spotted in null security space.
After reading this I guess we will see carriers in heaven or sanctums ?
Ccp did not give any details . Spawn rate. Difficulty or anything like that. Bounty that they will pay out or module they can drop.
Will the carriers be just normal npc or a true sansha npc?
Any speculations |

Not quite, there are cap ships in Level 5 missions as well now, Fought a few Carriers along with the sentries and battleships and I'm sure they will make their way to anomalies and sites now too
Ideas for missile launchers to make firing missiles more interesting/rewarding

On a related note: are lvl5 mission running dreads a thing now? I can imagine rapid cruise launchers doing fun things to big clusters of mission rats.

I just lost a Gila to an Asteroid Serpentis Dreadnaught in a Haven  . It dropped in 20km from me .. Scrammed, webbed and Neuted me then Blap 20 secs later.... After we went back and killed it ..(carriers and fighters) it dropped New components that are not listed on market anywhere... Ample compounds, Ample conductors (dont even have an icon yet), Compact compounds, Compact conductors, Enduring electronics, Precice electronics, Retrained Compounds, Scoped compounds, scoped electronics. No idea what they are for or value. |

Bringing a Gila to a cap fight sounds a lot like a knife to a gunfight :D

Do I understand this correctly that while Battleships in a Haven have issues hitting my little speed-tanked HAC, the Dread hits it perfectly fine and alpha's my HAC? Someone care to explain the logic behind this?

Afk speed tank farming yes.
I have an MJD on my ratting Machariel. Both times I got cap spawns I MJD'd away and lived, called in some friends and killed it. Don't know how to split the loot yet as I don't know what half of it is lol.
As with Carriers (you have to manually control fighter squadrons), CCP wants you to actually be at the keyboard while earning isk. This is good for all who rat, as it will increae the value of isk due to fewer famers, and increase the value of deadspace loot as fewer escalations overall are generated from anomalies. |

So how did I survive TWICE last night? In addition to the MJD my Mach has DED 10/10 rated tank.
Just because you don't know how to fit a spaceship doesn't mean no one else does.

That's only 20GJ per second. you can easily build and extra 20GJ per second into a Maruader's Cap. We already do WAY more than that with Tengus in lvl 5 missions and wormholes. Hell, my Cap Stable mach had more than enough juice to MJD out of web range. |

The Dreads and Titans i've experienced were all in Guristas and Angel space, no clue about the Drone Capitals. but so far it seems they simply do racial damage (kinetic for Guristas, Explosive for angels) so i imagine they are all like that. So maybe EM for Drones?

I've only been on one, in a belt, we had an alliance fleet so it was not something solo lol. It seems to have a lot of EHP, but nothing close to what a real Titan has. It didn't kill any of us but we had logi.
The Dreads I've had in Havens (4 to date, 3 Gurista, 1 Angel) were easy, no threat to my Mach's tank, I MJD'd away from the 1st 2 thinking I would get killed, so for the 3rd Guristas Dread i got I stayed, it could not break my tank or my cap.

I fought my first NPC capital ship today. I encountered a Guristas Dreadnaught in a deep nullsec system, and was able to solo tank it with a Rattlesnake at around 80km without a problem. I was using a standard passive Sanctum fit doing 1,200 DPS with drones and kinetic missiles. In total, it took 5 alliance mates to break its tank in about 25 minutes. It neuted hard and webbed me when I MJD into close range, but did not scram. I didn't see what loot it dropped, so that's unfortunate.
My alliance mates were in a two vexor navy issues, a myrmidom, and an Ishtar.
I hope this helps anyone else who runs into one. Be careful, they're serious business  |

NPC caps can spawn everywhere you would find regular NPC battleship rats, the same going for commander spawns. That is, you can find NPC Dreadnoughts and Titans in, including but not limited to:
- Asteroid Belts
- High-level anomalies, such as Haven (only Haven confirmed as of now)
- High-level ore anomalies such as Enormous and Colossal Asteroid Cluster
- Gates (unconfirmed)
- Outside of Citadels and Stations (unconfirmed)
In regular and commander (faction) variants.
From my own experience and the tales of others, Guristas Dreads do not scram, but they web, neut and jam at 70+ range. My Rattlesnake which admittedly has a somewhat poor tank (600 DPS stable vs. Gurista) could not tank a Dread Gurista Dreadnought, nor break its tank.
Usually we form 15-20 Catalysts which is more than enough.
I happened upon a Guristas Titan once in an asteroid belt, shat bricks a little but was able to warp out before he locked me. I didn't really want to find out if it scrammed or not ;)
Bounties are:
- 60M for the Dreadnought
- 120M for the Faction Dreadnought
- 240M for the Titan
- I have yet to see a Faction Titan.
An interesting thing is that they can and will spawn inside rocks or collidable objects and then be bumped at 4-5 km/s in a random direction. So a minute later they will be at 150km from the original spot (and 1-shot you while you burn to them).

Ive taken interest into the npc dreads and the titans, so Ive been running belts to see if I can spawn them. so far spawned several gurista dreads in both havens and in belts. I have yet to see the npc titan. I heard some rumors that there are only a few of them spawned in the whole universe at the same time, so triggering it seems like a no go. but the dread can be triggered and just the last few hours its been triggered 3 times. and easily killed it with a tanky carrier and 2 ishtars. the carrier can kill it within a few minutes. adding some more dps just kills it quicker. Guristas dread web and neuts. |
