I'm tired of all you pirates hiding in low security space where you can't easily buy my crap. Stop playing in 90% of the game and come back to the 10% where everyone else is; you're not special, and you know it.
Think your titans, carriers and dreadnaughts are all that, lets see you tank in a fragile mining barge while counting all your isk. Think gatecamping makes you hardcore huh? Atleast I do something while sitting on my ass in a 'roid field!
I'm also tired of all these whines about nanophoons, EW immune capital ships, etc. If you want to buy my ****, than whine about how it doesn't work, fine, but you don't get to cry until you flash that ISK.
(This is sarcasm incase you didn't realize by this point)...

I think you meant:-
Gankbear:Only attacking in superior numbers so you're victory with no losses is guaranteed. OR attacking in a Win-Or-Run ship. Carebear: Barge Vs. Roid.
Gankbear: Running like a baby when your target turns out to have a combat fitted ship instead of a ratting set up. Carebear: Moving on when gankbears show up.
Gankbear: Smacking in local that nobody 1v1's anymore after your target tackled and blobbed. Carebear: Smacking in local that you got blobbed.
Gankbear: Sits at a gate targetting things that have no realistic chance to fire back. Carebear: Sits at a belt targetting things that have no realistic chance to fire back.
Gankbear: Dirty Secret. Runs missions for isk. (Look at YOUR standing with pirate factions, oh -8.7 I see, that's some "pierate" - freak.) Carebear: Runs missions for isk.
Gankbear: Whines on forums and cries and get's on board any bandwagon that means he doesn't have to think for himself. Carebear: Whines on forums and cries and get's on board any bandwagon that means he doesn't have to think for himself.
The biggest difference between the two... Gankbear: Wouldn't last 5 seconds in WoW, where only fair fights are allowed. Carebear: Would last forever in WoW, where "no fights" are allowed.
But yes, OP's sarcasm avoided, the thread title is pretty true. But there aren't many gankbears and carebears who are going to see it in true light.

We should petition CCP to get guys like this banned (traders), he's trying to gank our wallets. I tell you if you give traders a chance they will empty all our wallets for their own sakes, they have no morals, at least us Pirates usually have a slight code of honor by upholding our word on ransomes. But these Traders know no such thing as honor, they will gank all our wallets, who's with me when I say DEATH TO THE TRADERS!!

I'm in the most delicious system in the galaxy of course.
Soon to go to an elderly system though.
And for that gankbear thing meh I still think its some ridiculous spin on carebear trying to boost carebear morale or something.
Not that I fit that category of course

Oh and meeting your enemy with superior numbers has been done since before written history, its just a smart thing to do.

True, but doesn't make it any more than taking the easy path. We used to hunt once-upon-a-time in huge groups to take down prey to feed our families, we are now capable of doing the same with <=1 person.
Sometimes watching these gankbears it's like taking a group of 50 hunters with bazookas to take down a chipmunk... in a cage... with a broken leg... in a coma. Some people can be proud of themselves just for there being a kill - others like a sense of accomplishment/challenge. There are both types of people in the game, but IMO many more than feel pwnultimate when they take 15-20 people to demolish retrievers as they pass one-by-one through a gate from highsec to lowsec.
I <3 pirates that like a challenge - no fun playing when you KNOW you will win.

Calling a pirate a gankbear is like calling me a *snip, no way* -HornFrog
I suggest you never do that again thank you.
Challenges are nice but when you need to be ready for anything (ala gate camping or especially 0.0 gate camping) numbers are key.
I fly solo but I do understand the importance of numbers as the more numbers you have the higher chances of survival you have. I seriously doubt that 50 people would co chasing some one into a belt. You were probably just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Mmm not really. Lets take a look shall we?
A stereotypical "carebear" likes to get the most advantage with no risk correct?
The description of a "gankbear" sounds very similar. You want to kill others with them having no chance of killing you.
Again, calling someone a carebear or a gankbear has no bearing in terms of racial slurs.

I find that meeting your enemy with superior tactics is preferable.
When I was a pirate I thought it was better to fight out numbered anyway, because you split the loot with less people \o/
And pvpers often seemed like the most profitable people to pirate. So the gankbear phrase seems perfect to me, the pirates that invariably run away from people trying to kill them are messing up their own profit margin.
I'm sure no one hates gankbears more than a decent pirate. ------------- CELES because making the tough guys cry is funnier.

Bear in mind I'm not calling you a gankbear. And as for the slur thing, thats pretty whacked out honestly.
However, in light of your perspective hopefully you don't call people carebears.

My view is that if you can attack something, then its fair game. To me the whole point of piracy is that it is unrestricted and lawless.
I guess I admire those pirates who live a rogues life, but still have a sense of honor and choose to only attack opponents with an even footing. It is unfair (and stupid) to expect this of everyone however. The core part of being a pirate is stealing from people after all.
Calling someone a carebear is basically the Eve equivalent of "Landlubber." I spend all my time mining, I'm not a pirate, but after I'm done I don't throw the ISK I've made into the air and declare it national peace and love day.
Sure I'm hiding behind the lofty walls of civillised society while I mine at the moment. I won't venture into low sec space until I know I have even the slightest chance of defeating those heavily armed pirates.

SO, you have atlast met your evil twin brother Delnas. Didnt you find it odd that all of your family pictures up untill you were two had parts cut out of them? Mother got upset when I tried to kill you by burning down the house with everyone asleep in it, blah blah blah, she over reacted, blah blah blah, threw me out of the house.
Anyway, I will fenish what I started that day. I will destory you my brother. Corse now that you have a clone I'll have to pay off the medicial unit & this will get way more costly then I wanted, but its worth it to finally be rid of you.

Piracy, like carebearing has nothing to do with fairness. Have you ever seen a carebear say "well, I'm going to deactivate a couple hardeners and 2 of my highslots because it just doesn't seem like a fair fight to these Guristas otherwise."?
No, we're both in it for profit and we take measures to ensure our success. I've been in fights where we've been outnumbered 7-2 and won as well as others where I've been ganked by 11 ships and been popped or had to warp off -- that's how the game works. The proper response when you get ganked is "Nice setup guys, sweet gang." This prevents you from looking like a complete jackass and having people tell you to go play WoW.
The funny thing is that 90% of the people that complain that "it wasn't fair" when they get ganked are the ones I could easily have taken 1v1 anyway. When you have 4-5 guys in your gang drooling for some kills, it's not exactly cool to tell them to sit tight just to even up the odds.
