warhammer 40k pwns them both they have space marines, and literally UNCOUNTABLE people to throw into the fray, and no qualms with doing it plus the universe is much darker, which is always good (as far as i'm concerned) and most importantly, they have ENTIRE PLANETS devoted to ACCOUNTANTS! seriously, they PWN
Aside from that, star trek FTW, because they don't have Anakin whining through 3 movies. seriousl "Waaaah i'm turning into the coolest badguy evar!!!" doesn't fly for me. He was supposed to be so hardcore at the end, and he was all mushy.
but star wars does have vader, 2 points. star trek has vulcans and klingons-4 points
I represent only my own views, they just happen to be the right ones. |

Edited by: ReePeR McAllem on 07/10/2007 01:42:01 Star trek gets my vote.
Much more story-line and factuality to the show.
I mean light sabres.... seriously? wtf makes a beam of light stop 4 feet from where its projected - pffff!
The science of trek is very precise. Whereas star wars is created in the mind of a very imaginative guy.
Depends what you prefer, cool action and fighting scenes, vrs cool action and fighting scenes with a story
Edit: not saying star wars doesnt have a story btw, it does.

Originally by: Lucian Alucard Cinematically Star Wars is in another league.
Tech wise Star Trek has the edge. the Falcon strained to barely reach warp 2 on the flip side you have the Enterprise D and E easily hitting warp 9.6. Sheilding wise, 90% of all SW sheilds are Ion based,ST just about every ship has a different form of sheilding and The Federation,Romulans and Borg have phased sheilds. Cloaking its litteraly a billion times easier to make it work in ST then Sw, sure Thrawn did it but look at wtf it took to get him to do it. Now the fun stuff guns and torps, Turbolasers vs Phasers/Disruptors, ST's stuff packs the same punch beam wise but has better tracking, Proton Torps vs. Quantum, no contest ST wins again.
Nope. wrong. the who would win in a war arguement was effectively ended 5+ years ago http://stardestroyer.net/Empire/Essays/FiveMinutes.html ----- signature |

Edited by: Mudkest on 07/10/2007 13:40:08 starwars, meh.. 4 and 5 were kind of fun, 6 dubious at best(I mean, sticks and stones beating advanced body armor and lasors? we should have stayed in the stone age in case of alien attack!) 1 and 2 were even more meh, not even sure why I bothered to watch them(guess same reason as I watched lotr, the battlescenes. still a couple of hours of my life I wasted :s) never even bothered to watch 3.
as for star trek, deep space nine was fun, well last couple of seasons anyway. original is fun too. next generation is more of a soap in space, and as far as voyager is concerned, not even 7 of 9 made that crap worth watching imho.
And whatever that latest series is called. It has klingon in it and vulcans but I still dont see how that glorious <insert dramatic pause> ... waste of recourses is concidered star trek.

All you Star Trek people are communists, dammit.
Personally I thought the original series was great. Given how dated they are the fact that the majority of them are still watchable (if you've ever seen any other sci-fi shows from that era you'll know what I mean ) they were definitely ahead of their time. The newer Star Trek shows have waaaaay too much philosophical and new-agey BS for my tastes though.
That said I could never get into Star Wars either.
