Sorry if this has been raised already or in the wrong section....
Has the tactical overlay sphere been removed since the patch or is there an option to turn it back on?
Positioning for a cyno has just became a lot harder |

All of your active overview targets(?) are now interpolated within a two-dimensional circle of influence. I'm not familiar with cyno placement, however; what difficulties are you having? |

the old sphere made it a heap easier.

The problem is without the grey sphere that used to appear when hovering over a module placing a cyan is now a bit of a guessing game with no way to make sure the incoming ship doesn't bounce off a station. Not a risk I'm keen on taking in a 7b jf plus cargo |

Oh, I see. I believe the station "sphere" is interpolated in the same way. Notice when you approach a station how the station's handle(?) (the white line from the station icon to the two-dimensional plane tactical overlay) curves. Whether you are inside our outside the station's sphere of influence is interpolated on the tactical overlay's two-dimensional plane. Make sure that you are outside the curvature of the station's handle, but that you are still within docking range, and will be good to light your cyno. Sorry, it's hard to explain because we don't have any jargon for the new tactical overlay yet :) |
