Isn¦t there anyone who kinda gets messages from CCP devs about how things are going and stuff? I mean, it wouldn¦t take more than 5 minutes would it? Devs have chatclient running somewhere in the offices with some bughunters and mods hanging around. Devs post short notice: "Hey guys something went wrong with X so we¦ll have to do Y. Probably no patch today :/" People in channel respond: "Alrighty, gonna post a message on the website, k?" GM or anyone capable of doing so posts a short message on the news, something like "Sorry people there have been some minor problems with the patch and there are some last tweaks we want to do before putting all this on TQ so... can¦t guarantee the patch today folks. Kthnxbye" I mean... all this wouldn¦t take more than a few minutes, but would make hundreds of people happy because at least they know what¦s going on. Or am I wrong? Mai's Idealog

But even programmers have to take a break every now and then So what I recommend is just setting up a cheap computer in the cafeteria with nothing but IRC running. So people who are just taking a break to drink a coffee could take these few minutes and chat with the GMs/polaris a bit just to keep them in the know about what¦s happening and how things are going. It¦s little things like these that often help a great deal in squashing communication problems. Mai's Idealog

Well from what I know there have been lots of changes made during the last few days and I suppose that the delay is a result of these. So actually we should be happy about the delay I guess since it would be rather annoying to have the gloss of all the new shiny stuff killed by bugs that came in with these last additions. Solo occupation it is not; in 99% of non-trivial application development, your work relies directly on the work of your colleagues who in turn most likely rely on you to do your job. Constant contact and communication is thus a necessity. If someone's not looking over your shoulder actually, they are doing so virtually; if you don't deliver something they can work with you will quickly find yourself highly disliked.
