this is probably a series of dumb questions but I can't find answers using the search so I'll ask them anyways.
for everything (all structures and all types of access[view, take, use...]) I have the option to choose "Role", "Corperation", or "aliance".
right now anyone who needs access is a director so it magically works. what exactly do I need to give an individual person access to (what role? is that the correct question) in order to let them have access to the given type of access for the given object.
let me be abit clearer:
What role does a person need in a corp if the POS access is set to "Role"
What role does a person need in a corp if the POS access is set to "Corperation"
What role does a person need in a (sister) corp if the POS access is set to "Aliance"
I'm too lazy to experiment with it and I don't want to screw up and give everyone access. help would be greatly appreciated.

The Starbase Officer Role (or as you discovered the Director or CEO wich have this role by default)

Is it possible to set everything to aliance, then give the important people in the aliance the shield password and set the "allow corp access" and "allow aliance access" in the manage window to off so they can't get in the shield. would that work?
I guess I could then set onlining, offlining, anchoring and that stuff to ROLE so only corp members with roles can do it. Is that secure? or are members without the password still able to get in the POS somehow?

Checking the Allow Corp and Allow Alliance boxes will allow anyone in your corp AND alliance into the shield without needing the password. You should keep Offline and Anchoring access to 'Role' only, otherwise anyone steal your POS.
