Right what I need to do here is get an idea of the best laser ship to take out NPC hunting (lets assume I'll be shooting Sansha Nation )
Previously I have taken Ravens out to do NPC hunting but because my supply chain is going to be very long then I want to use a laser ship to avoid ammo supply problems. Essentially I want to be able to logon this character and shoot NPCs for a bit and log off again. Sec status and Isk is all im out there for.
Assume I can fly any non-capital Ammar ship what you you choose and fit?
Any help muchly appreciated.

4 heavy, 5 light Thermal drones,
Mega-modulated pulse lasers with whatever crystals are right for the range.
Its sansha so tech 1 fit it and dont bother with anything expensive other than insurance. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

Probably Sanshas Nation but if anyone has any suggestions as to the easiest NPCs to kill in a laser ship then I'm open to suggestions.
As to where I'll be shooting it. Some out of the way back water 0.0 system probably without the local corp/alliances permission hence the long supply chain and the need not to have ammo.
A raven with a cargo hold full of torps isn't going to last a day.

What they said, armageddon lows 3 heat sink IIs 1 active EM hardner 1 active therm (or both EM, never fought sansha so dunno) large rep and rest CPR. mids tracking comp/webber (depends on beams or pulses. and an AB caprecharger or 2 cap rechagers
1,2 or 3 CCC rigs to keep everything running and if those end up being over kill use nano pumps (or which ever increases rep ammount.

Apocalypse:
7x Mega Pulse Lasers 1x Tractor Beam (convinient)
1x 100 MN AB 3x Cap recharger
2x Large Armor Repairer 2x Thermal Hardner (if going after Sansha) 3x Cap Power Relay
Fill the drone bay with Hammerheads
Use named/TII as you can afford it...
(It should fit, can't verify atm)
I hunted Sansha in Esoteria with this set-up and right now I'm going after Serpentis in 0.0 with a kin/therm hardner set-up... Don't bother with angels though, you'd be hard pressed to kill cruisers with lasers... ---

If there is a real danger that people will kill you on sight or hunt you if they find out you're there go for something small.
A retribution can easily handle multiple sansha bs spawns and if hostiles approach it will be able to warp out much faster than a bs, plus its a lot cheaper to lose.
If you really want to be careful and not lose any isk you can actually do the same thing in a punisher (yes the tech 1 frigate) it just takes a lot longer to kill a bs.
However if you are really just after speed or pure isk generating power i guess the arma or perhaps a zealot would be your best bet. ------------------------------------------------ The purpose of life: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of their women. |

My sansha hunting ship.
Apoc:
High: 8x DHB/P Med: AB, cap rechargers Low: LAR, MAR, 2xTherm, 1xEm, whatnot.
5 med and 5 light drones.
Drones are to kill frigs and assist in cruiser/BS kills. All t1 fit, and i think the MAR is enough to sustain the ship, but LAR is a good backup . You could spice it up with a tracking comp to kill a bit faster. Pretty much same setup for Bloods.

I have to second the Retribution suggestion, if only for the cheap initial outlay. It does the job. |

Pilgrim
High - 3 Heavy Pulse T2. Cov ops cloak
Med - 10mn MWD, 4 cap recharge
Low - MAR2, 3 hardeners, cap power relay
5 T2 Med drones.
With decent skills armor rep and guns should run 24/7 and still leave enough cap to use MWD in bursts.
PROs
1. Can kill any triple 1.8mill spawn (not tried against angels or officers)
2. You can go afk whenever you want and just cloak.
3. If you need to leave 0.0 at sudden notice it is also easy with cloak.
4. No ammo used.
5. Quick to allign/run if hostiles show up.
Cons
1. Can be a little time consuming killing the biggest NPCs
2. If you crash with drones out you will probably swear greatly.
