Deep seeded in our being and our collections, we ask, where did it all start. Most of us have been asking, and most of us have been to the EVE Gate. I'm just a pondering fool. But I say, in this time of strife, we all find a way to find our ultimate goal. Activate the gate. The Jove have been there. I know they have, I saw them fly through gates not active to our eyes. Not the cloaks we can now detect. They prey upon years we have wasted not finding the truth. The gate is open. We can find our home, our heritage. But that may never happen if we unleash Titan upon Titan. Someone has to rise above, and bring us beyond.

I agree, once we band together and its built there WILL be war, the races will fight over who has control over the gate.. there just is no way for that to happen. even if one race was able to build it and use it the other races will go to war with that race to take control over it. its just inevitable.. if a gate is built war is iminent. ----------------------------------------- Tonight the world will fear our names. Only this way can we avoid widespread conflict amongst the lesser races who will each vie for the power associated with controlling it. The endless repetition of destruction is purposeless if its only reason is to fight another day. We've ceased to understand ourselves in favor of the known quantifier: the easy way out. Consider for a moment: what if the anomaly exists to keep us out? What if it's to protect us from what lies beyond? Does anything lie beyond? Revel in the mystery. Explore beyond petty greed and ego, and the answers will come. Continue destroying one another and the cycle will continue. It's that simple.

But yes, I believe the end result would be a strongly enforced peace in the inner cluster that would, with any luck, last for generations to come. As for finding a way to reactivate the EVE gate, if it is done for the purpose of searching for the mythical "Earth", I say leave it be. We have too many planets bothering us as it is.

Suppose Earth does exist, and we do manage to open the gate once again. Do you think what we find on the other side will greet us with open arms? If the tales of Earth are true, there is an ancient civilization on the other side. A civilization far more advanced than we, or possibly even Jove, can imagine. A civilization contained in limited amount of space looking to expand. If the gate is activated, it will be the war to end all wars alright. But it will not be the war among the New Eden races. EVE Gate is a proverbial Pandora Box to be left alone.

The ancient earth does not draw me in. We are all children of this place, this is home. The Earth of so long ago may not exist as we know it. For all we know, the people there may not even exist as we know it, perhaps they only exist in a virtual world, each person living out thier life from the controls of a terminal, controlling a representation of themselves. Then again, maybe they are a sort of pod pilot just like us. Scary anyway.

I can only pray that if the gate is ever re-opened, the humans on the other side will be able to put an end to our conflicts here. Or would we just be enslaved?
