I'm back to Eve, for the third time. I played at release for 2 months, then resubsribed for a month in September, and now I'm back again. I think Eve is one of two mmorpgs that are actually different from the norm, and have lots of potential for fun (Tales of The Desert is the other). I keep giving this game a chance because I think CCP truely wants to design a fun game whereas some huge corporation like Sony cares first about the dollar and less so about creating a uniquely enjoyable mmorpg- look at Star Wars Galaxies...yuck. Sure CCP wants to make a profit with their game. I think they deserve my business and appreciate it, and are creating a mmorpg that doesn't have the typical bash-monster-level-treadmill of all the other mmorpgs coming out. I think pvp has potential yet tapped, whereas Shadowbane's flawed pvp is pretty much set-in-stone at this point. Its great that a patch full of new gameplay elements is coming out. I hope I want to stay alot longer this time around.
Who else is resubscribing to Eve around this week?

i really liked what you had to say. eve is possibly one of the best games ive ever played..and i will support CCP forever and ever..unless i cant play cause of some crazy reason. but as far as im concerned im never going to quit. the only thing that could make me loose intrest would be a game like eve, set in the mechwarrior universe. but i love eve to death, always will.

I tried Eve September into October. I came back 2 days ago. The only reason I left in the first place was to try something different that had a lot of hype. I think I'm here to stay for a while.

Thank you for this post,
Eve is an increadible experiance, "a virtual life" that has to be lived as well as played.

Whenever somebody tells me they have bought/signed up for some mmorpg and I hear that they have to play a lot to gain xp...I pity them and the game they're playing.

Well dispite all its quirks I've had fun playing eve over the last 5-6 months... and since it can only get better I hope more people subscribe :)
Also I think in the future we should have a "Sticky" thread for anything to do with server up/down time... so we don't end up with 15 topics all on page one all saying the same thing :P
The only reason I continue to hand over money to ccp is that I beleive we will see continued improvements for the game as a whole.. and based on chaos testing, we're starting to see a return :P

i agree. i dont remember the last game i played for 7ish mounths. i accually elft for 2 mounths...but i could find a replacement for eve...maybe i just like space...but this game is still great. and also, leave the devs alone!! stop all that coming soon(tm) stuff. encourage them and have patience. they will be more motivated to do good work, on time that way. and if u say "oh well, a company needs to keep its word" well, if they kept their word on the release date, half you you would have died somehow, and it would have taken longer for all the petetions to be sorted...so...stop making comments on the devs....or else!

Nice thread. just good to hear positive thoughts about eve. Intreasting to hear the views on other mmog`s peeps have tried. Been playing eve for months now and reckon its damn good value for money ....lets face it compared to most games you certainly get value for money on the basis of gameplay hours per pound spent (yes even including downtime and patches )

Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 17/12/2003 00:53:58 I have it automated, I just chuck it up there like I do on the market ingame and forget all about it...
On a sad note we had two members quit just before patch, probable cause of departure would be lack of content which is somewhat ironic.

Me too, and I'm trying to bring some friends. I can't wait to see what Eve will be in the near future. Go on CCP, EVE is getting better day after day. And it has by far the biggest potential of all MMORPGs on the market.

Edited by: Coritani on 17/12/2003 18:31:25 Edited by: Coritani on 17/12/2003 18:31:02 Been playing Eve for about 3 months now. before that, played EQ for close to 4yrs , for those in the know..got to the doors of Planes of Time, and then realised after all that time playing, that exp`ing to gain anything in a game just wasn`t worth the time and effort. Came to Eve, and have loved every minute of it. Yes, I get frustrated at losing my MWD, yes I got a shock when finding NPC BS`s in our now defunked Bist belts, and yes hate it that I had to take a trip back to Empire, to set a few things straight before returning hehe. I did consider leaving, once I read/heard what the changes would be...just seemed such an upheaval in a game that I liked playing as it was ! The only advise I would give to anyone thinking of leaving, is to read all forums, listen to all points of view, whether it be miner, trader or PvP specialist..from that take a balanced look at all the changes, and hopefully you might come to the same decision I did. The game has GREAT potential, with the new patch, hopefully it will be set on a path to realise them.

Been playing nearly a year now, and while during that time the devs have made their share of mistakes it is quite clear that they only want to make the game everything it can be, and it's getting there slowly.
The simple fact is, there isn't another game like it. No sharding and a strong foundation for PVP are absolutely key for me, and I'll be staying with eve for the long run.

My sub runs out 5th of Jan. And I won't be coming back.. . . . . until I've played the games I've missed being addicted to Eve
After I've cleared my "backlog" of missed games I'm coming back fresh and hungry for more. Eve is the greatest game I've ever played. Period.
