Got it last night...awesome...two downsides to it though:
Systems specs are pretty high, (not game-breaking like TA:Kingdoms was though) the minimum they recommend is not going to create much fun for the player...so I am looking at how I am going to pay for upgrading my system without my other half finding out.
And so far I haven't found an equivalent of ctrl-c from TA. At least I think it was ctrl-C. There was a keyboard command where you selected an active unit or units, then hit ctrl-c and it selected every unit of that type or types on the map-one of greatest commands ever when you need to get your fastest units to a certain spot to buy time for the slower units to get there. There is now select all land or all air or all naval, but that isn't the same... I might want to leave my mobile anti air units in place around my base, but move every other combat unit to a certain point... Hopefully there is a command like this and I just haven't found it yet.
Anyway, good game, I recommend it if you have a beefy system.

Edited by: Vari on 22/02/2007 18:45:44 I finished the Cybran campaign. My goodness I should upgrade soon.
Because the map you're missioning on gets bigger as you complete objectives, you never really know how long a mission will be, nor what you'll have to do. The psychological effect is great.
SupCom is the greatest PC game to come out in a while now.

Personally i think it sucks.
Why?
Cause it's too big ( not in file size or anything like that)
There's 5 meter tall robots blasting eachothers Subprocessors out and you can barely notice them on the screen. I charge in my small/medium bot army and head to base to build some backup. Ohh didn't notice that turret there. No warning, my troops are all dead?? What?
Usually in RTS you get warnings if your troops are getting their asses kicked but not this one. At least i didn't notice it. It's impossible to storm a well defended base without heavy artillery and Huge ass spider bots with T503 lasers everywhere.
Supreme Commander is like America, The bigger the better.

It's called 'scouting'. Try it out some time before you send stuff to the slaughterhouse.

I played the demo for a bit. It runs like crap but it's awesome fun nonetheless. It really does feel like an evolution from TA, which is all I hoped for.

I've never played TA before, but am loving SupCom. I sort of wish that e.g. upgrading my land factory to Tech 2 (they sooo play Eve) upgraded ALL of my land factories to tech 2, but it's a small niggle. -- [WREC] is recruiting. |

In TA ctrl-C selects your commander and centres the screen on him.
In SupCom you can double click any unit and it will select all units of that type on your current screen (so just zoom all the way out, double click a unit and it will select all of those that you have) -omg-
