Hi
Once the shields are recharged, why doesn't the booster shut off, or is there a way to have auto-shut off once the shields are replenished? (otherwise it keeps draining the capacitor)
Thanks

As far as I know, you have to shut it off yourself, which indeed can be a minor nuisance. Click it, or press its hotkey, to turn it off. It will flash red as it powers down.

If you just want a single shot out of it, I believe setting it to Manual will do that.

The reason that i believe it doesnt turn off automatically when you hit 100% is kind of obvious imho(not trying to flame you... left my zippo in my other pants)
Lets say your shield tanking, and you come across 10 baddies(read npc's pirates etc etc)
They start shooting at you, and you start shooting back, you also activate your booster.
Your shields get back to 100% (we are now going to branch off in two different directions... I apologize if I make no sense, but it does to me)
a) your booster turns off when it hits 100% b) your booster keeps running
You manage to pop a couple of them but not all and you are really getting into the fight a) you still dont realize your booster is off and your shields are now failing b) your booster is still running and your at 100% shields but your cap is bleeding out
You pop even more of them but the others are still pounding on you a) your booster still isnt on and your now in armour and falling fast b) your booster is still running, your shields are still at 100% and if your ship is setup beautifully your cap is holding steady at about 33%
There is one guy left and you start to work on him a) your cap is at 100% but your at about 20% structure and you pop, leaving the one guy there probably just as pumped about the sick fight as you were and hes estatic about the final win b) you pop the guy because your booster never turned off and your cap is still at 33%
Well that is obviously a very far stretched situation, but i think it gets the point across... maybe it doesnt... its extremly early/ late here...

Just turn it off yourself when it hits 100%, dont wanna storch out and burn your cap.

It will shut off when his capacitor runs dry too. :)

the "boost" to your shields comes at the end of the cycle I believe, just like an armor repairer, so in a fight it helps to have it on, like the example given above.

Thank you. Yeah in a fierce battle I would also prefer that it stays on. An option like the mining drones (Mine vs mine repetitively) would be useful (recharge vs recharge continuously)

Fraid not, shield boosters add the shield as soon as it is clicked, as was said armor repairers add the armour at the end of the cycle..
