The latest Meridian Dynamics recruiting vid, I'm interested to know what everybody thinks, please make comments so I know what needs to be fixed, I love the new logo Esdi made for our corp at the very end of the vid!!!!

There's no way I can post without looking like self promotion for my corp, but from a completely objective point of view, this is a well crafted vid.

I'm only playing 6 weeks so i gotta give it time before going into PvP. Having the bare skills needed to fly the ship means nothing.

There's a shot of a raven getting it's ass kicked in there, and and others of big ships getting killed by only 8 frigs. And they're cheap too lose. Hop in that frig and we'll cause some mayhem.

PVP is purely "mindset" and teamwork. Even some of our corporation's esteemed opponents started their pirat-ey careers in the first week flying rifters and such.
The video has a close in shot of a raven biting the bullet. Half the guys in our corp that participated in that kill were less than three weeks old at the time...AND it was a 'griefer war' (no offense Droklar -heh heh.) that we as a corp decided to stand up to and fight rather than run and hide.
PVP is at its best when working with like minded individuals who want to succeed...regardless of pirating or being the "good guys". Moving into 0.0 space is even more about the teamwork and cooperation. Its NOT about the age of the pilot, but how well he can join in and learn from the pilots further along, and THAT is the easy part when a corp is organized and focused on the 'team'.

The part I was talking about was the "Raid enemy territory" part, just a frig fleet, and only 8-10 people at that.

by far the best recruiting movie that i have ever seen in eve... one thing though. next time let us see the whole screen it just seemed to always be zoomed in to the top right corner... of course that could be my comp's problem.

Right. The vid is really well made and edited and stuff, it's good for recruitment I guess, but it's not very interesting to the casual viewer, lots of gankblobs and that's about it.

The reason for the zoom was some intel channels and such that should not be public knowledge... :)
When I'm frapsing a battle now I try to shrink the windows so I don't have to do it anymore, live and learn...

Personally, I'd be interested to hear what some of the better "known" filmmakers opinion of this is, but something tells me they are too busy with a certain mess involving the guy with a real short name....oh i dunno...'bob' comes to mind here?
I have a good collection of eve videos, and at the top of my short list, Verone, Leafo, Seleene, loxyrider and the corelli corp vids all stand out as awesome. Biased or not, for pure editing, I say this one is every bit as good.
--plus we have an uber 3-d logo.

Nice movie but uhm, thought it was a bit unfair the breaking from BDSM gate camp to the PONs camp, which btw, you outnumbered 3:1.
So there are still somethings you can't handle.

Now that was really really nice! I simply love those epic "together we can do anything" movies!
What can I say, I'm a sucker for drama!
Now for some comments:
- Great choice of music, it fits the movie very nicely.
- Picture quality is on par with what we expect these days.
- A story, may not be the best or best explained but a story never the less
and that is rare these days and always brings stuff up a level.
- Some nice camera angles and fast action, this is not a pure battle vid and
that makes some of the gankier things work just fine.
- Editing was great,a few mistakes but I'm sure you are already aware of those,
one usually is after editing things 1003 times so I wont comment on that.
- Text font; Stick to one font through out. Or if you diverse dont go to far of the "original".
- Text placement; Ok for the most part but at the end when it lists contacts
it looks wrong especially with the mixed fonts. Black out the screen and put it
there for a moment, its what people need to see properly if they want to contact you.
- The pictures when displaying the qoutes are a bit "static", something to lift them
of the background movie would be great, the placement on screen is good.
However, they are great quotes and again fits very well into the theme of the movie.
- Intro, again its a bit "low tech" compared to the excellent rendering of the corp logo.
Could do with some more resoltion though. Add a "cooler" logo (3d) for the "BAM".
- Outro; SCREW quality! With the added sound effects it was perfect to end with!
Keep them coming! You seem like the type of group I would like to fly and shoot!
Looking forward to the next vid for sure

Ahh, awox, missing the point as usual eh? lol
Its A RECRUITING video. Also presented as something entertaining for the eve video crowd. You might prefer gank vids, but that wasn't this intent, and oh, I think you know it, but wanna pvp here as well....and dat's okay man.
