Why is this? The Brutix rats seem to have more punch but go down way quicker then the Thorax rats, especially on the Blockade mission I find. I notice the frigates are also hard to knock down but that's more a speed tank than anything.

Might want to try that theory in something other than a torp raven. =)

If these Thorax rats have a higher bounty than the Brutix rats, then I'd guess they are Vigilant or possibly even Deimos rats. Part of CCP's changes to have fewer harder foes rather than more weaker foes.

Torpedos will 2-shot most battlecruisers easily. Tech 2 torps can 1shot them (a full volley).
The cruisers have smaller target profiles and what-not, plus they tend to go faster. I find BCs are the easiest rats to kill in a raven with torpedos, with frigates being the hardest. Some of them I can't kill without several reloads. Hense drones :))
Takes 3 or 4 volleys for me for most cruisers.
try using a target painter.

Are they called 'Guardian Corelum Defender' or some such?
If so then they have very high resists in the same way that a Guardian Veteran frig has better resists and is tougher than a Coreli Defender frig. They are alot tougher, and are thus harder to kill, and are thus given higher bounties.

Their bounties are sub par to the brutix. FYI I use a Domi and Hammerhead II who mentioned torps?

It's befcause you mentioned speed tank, wich usually means foing faster than a missile or moving quickly to avoid damage. The rax' in the first wave of the blockade arent rax'. They have a 250k bounty wich is higher than the battlecruisers. Take em out with some ogre 2s doesnt really matter what you do they just have a very heavy resist bonus. Normally I'll hit a rax for 275-250 with 425s at that range those barely 50. Focus one at a time, sip some coffee, and wait for the second wave.
