I have exactly the same problem....
I have sent in a petition - last night, but the GM's needed a copy of my DxDiag first, so i have just sent it in 30 secs ago when i got home from work...
I'll post a solution/advice as i get it!
I suspect looking at my DxDiag - i may need to upgrade DirectX as i only have 9a not 9b which i believe is the latest....

I have a similar problem. I just get a starfield with a large black square in the bottom right hand corner on selecting my character. I've filed a bug report.
If anyone gets any advice can they post it here please.

Post your system specs. It would probably help to see if you have all the same video card for example. __________ Capacitor research |

Had you already patched Eve to 1254? Because from what I read...today's automatic patch only works 100% if you were already patched to 1254. If you weren't it's iffy.
Maybe try reinstalling Eve and downloading the specific Release CD to 1352 patch, if you haven't done that already. Patches

I know that one other guy had this problem. He fixed it by playing around with the colour depth on his graphics card. ------------- You have to go out of your mind from time to time to stay sane. |

I'm having a different problem...
The Splash screen opens, and then the Licence screen appears, but it is off set from the screen, so the accept button is below the visible area. I've cleared my cache and all ingame prefs, to no avail. I've now downloaded the full client again, because i couldn't think of anything else to do...
Anyone else get this? |

Have you tried to drag the liscense window? I think at one point it was draggable, but I don't know about now...

I had the same problems. The new patch seems to reset all your graphics options. When I started after the patch I was playing in window mode at the lowest screen spec.
Hit the escape button and reset all your graphics set up as they were before you downloaded the patch. Hopefully this should help.

One of my corp mates had this problem. He had to set his color depth to 32 bit to fix it.
