I just re-read EON #1.
You talked about the ships, and you state that "Im hoping we have time to add battle-ship sized carriers, ideally therell be eight new models - two for each race, altough functionally they'll be quite similar.
The most extensive update will be current T1 ships, specifically the old warhorse cruiser class considered by many to be obsoloete now that heavy assault ships have superseded their combat abillity.

But Cruisers are still the same.
At the end it states: "The idea is to move the old cruisers away from being pure combat ships and make them more specialised, perhaps adding a highly specialised third skill bonus"
While i would hate to see cruisers not to be combat ships(I love to solo in them), i would like to see them revised.
Any update on this?

Some ships are already highly specialized. Look at the Blackbird, dirt cheap and can be a helluva jammer with the right pilot.
Personally i think it would (at present) be wrong to overhaul the cruisers. They still have there place in a battle and can still dish out the pain. Not too mention the fact that they are very disposable.

The cruisers which used to be obsolete are already specialized.
Each race has four cruisers - two are damage dealing combat ships, each focusing on the different combat styles of the race (For instance, Caracal is a missile spammer, Moa is a rail sniper, Omen is a gank machine (in theory anyway) and the maller is a tanking monster).
The other two are specialized support ships - the celestis is a cheap, effective dampener, the blackbird is a cheap ECM boat, the Scythe is a tracking link, the osprey is a remote shield booster, etc.
Although battleship sized carriers... I don't see the point tbh...

BS sized carrier...........Dominix?!
Can't say I wouldn't be happy about some cruiser loving, though.

I'm sure Battleship sized carriers were cancelled because it would take away some of the Gallente's ships uniqueness - drones.
Of course we already have 2 battleship sized carriers - the Dominix and the Typhoon.

Carriers isnt just drones, its also being able to use the corp hangar, and dock ships.

Good point. But i think ISS take it too literally. I remember blowing up one of their chimeras, and it were fitted with BS sized shield tank!

Cruisers still get screwed over by NOS and webbers, neither of which have any scale effect (like every other mod in the game). NOS kills your cap very fast in a cruiser, and webs nullify your agility bonus over the larger ships.

Battleship-sized Carrier would most likely only be able to field 5 fighters. Unless you have a dronebay to match exactly that (which we all know, at least the Gallente one should not), you will be able to solo missions even better that now. Fit 5 Fighters and 5 drones (more if space allows it) and you are good to go. Heck, while you're at it, fit for PVP and you can not only dish out a lot of damage, you are also one step closer to the infamous Solo wtfpwnmobile, being so versatile...
Now, with that said, I sure would like an upgraded Dominix for my missions. I don't care about PVP...

lol i had the same experience actually... killed an ISS chimera and it turned out to be fitted with named XL shield boosters. kinda sad imo... but i wont name the pilot
