Was greeted by a WoT about Syria, Pakistan and some other random places - none of which I can find on Dotlan.

Correct.
Our resources are limited to what players can and want to contribute with.
If none of our writers want to cover Live events, RP events, PVE events or even PVP events they simply won't get included untill we find someone who does.
