Please CCP, [insert useful module here] is OMGWTFUBER and is ruining the game. (aka: I got ganked and want to cry about it)
Seriously... take a look between the general discussion and ships and modules forums and you'll likely see just about every module has its own nerf thread.
Off the top of my head we have:
Missiles
Passive Shield Tanked Drake/Myrmidon
Damps
Nanos/Istabs
ECM (already hit)
Nos
MWD's
Cap Boosters
and thats just what I've seen over the last few days... (feel free to add any you think of)
Where does it end?
Say for a second everything pp'l wanted nerfed was... do you know how booring this game would be?
EVERYTHING in this game has a counter... just because your generic PVP fit can't counter something does not mean it is overpowered.
Take for example the current hot topic of Nano BS's. MOST are not so insanely fast that an interceptor can't get points of warp scram on it (aside from a multi BILLION ISK fitting)... then bring in another BS at range and blow it to pieces. To counter the Nano BS's nos try putting some racial ECM on the Nano BS. There... countered! Sure it take 2-3 ships, but why should everything be soloable?
No need for a Nerf. Now be creative and figure out a way to counter your recent gank and stop whining to nerf everything in this game. |

Phear the Nub Alt Velator Blob of Doom.. As long as you all have clones nearby and a good stock of Hobgoblin/Warrior I and non named T1 mods you could assault a gate camp indefinately for pennys..

If memory serves right, they DID have a nice little movie of a swarm of Velators (and their myriad drones) taking down a Ferox and a few other ships... was about half a year ago or so.

And if you expand your search to other forums, you will find even more nerf requests. You can also discover that there is a small group, always in support of all nerf. I call them, the nerfologists.

Since we're on the subject of nerfing. How in the world did a line of soft toys, started originally by a medium sized foam football, come to represent the tweaking of game code to reduce the effectiveness of of particular facet of said game? The change of terminology has long been a question pondered by my friend and I. I'm fairly aware that no-one here has the actual answer to this question, and I will most likely by replied by dozens of flippant responses; however, I say bring on the sarcasm!
For reference the original term "NERF" was an acronym for Non-Expanding Recreational Foam.

Far as I can see the problem is everyone and their dog whining for whatever keeps kicking their butt to be nerfed instead of the counter to it being boosted.
....and of course the fact that CCP actually listens to them.
It's nice that they listen but I'd like to think they know enough about game balance that all we need to do is point out the problem and they can... you know... fix it.
....but then I'd like to think a lot of things

Remove all weapons from the game, add collision damage back in, and make it so instead of shooting at each other, using webifiers etc, all we do is give the command "Ramming speed!".
