Yes, I know, the amarr is getting changed.... yes i know, you guys expect this to be a whine cry me a river post... Well I happen to have a bridge handy.. a simple question.. for the best PVP.... what is the best laser weapon when you get to BS.....

you're kidding right!? do u want short range or long range for a start!? do you want to do max damage or do you have a large tank?

Unless you want to snipe you should probably check out those cool pulse lasers... For the damage and pretty decent close range. Damage type problem will most likely be adjusted soon and Amarr might even get some launcher ships to be able to select damage type for real.

IMHO, Amarr is more likely to get drone ships than missile ships. We already have the Arbitrator, and its BS offerings (most notably the geddon) have pretty hefty drone bays. ------ Currently Flying: "Righteous Blade XVII" (Armageddon), "Overloaded Monster" (Bestower), "Crazy Ninja PVP IIX" (Vengeance) |

No idea what this has to do with what the op asked.
I would say you have to determine what you want to do, snipe or short range?
For sniping, nothing works better than Tach's in my opinion but there are serious fitting problems with them. You will definitely need to be able to use RCUII and I really wouldn't try to put them on a geddon. Even with the Geddon's laser cap bonus you will run into cap issues.
For short range, I love Mega Pulse II, they are sweet guns for DPS but have some tracking issues.
If you can't use T2 then the Mega Modulated versions of lasers are the best ones in terms of DPS but have nearly the fitting problems of the T2 counterparts without the extra damage bonus from the specialization skills.

Well, mega pulses seem to be best bet for med to low range and with a decend tank fitted, as many other posters have told :)
Alltho Im using my prophercy with artys due personal preference of using all of my cap to tank, and since my BC skill is only 3, the 30% wont be all that much with my tank... and artys just appeal to me in ways of range & falloff... *Shrug*

It sort of depends on which Amarr Battleship you're in. Tachyon's for the Abbadon, its like the two were made for each other. Mega Pulses are best used on an Armageddon, when you're at short to medium range you might aswell have 5 Berserker II's to back you up. Apocalypse doesn't do too well with Tachyons, your best bet is a big tank and DHP or DHB.

Best weapons for amarr?
Projectiles tbh on most ships, there are a few exceptions to that though (eg, zealot, curse, possibly geddon, etc).
It's not like they get a damage bonus for lasers on the majority, and projectiles also allow you to vary damage....oh, and means all cap is for tanking. Plus they track better o/. --------------------------------- Soon to be member of ????? |

 Well.. Eventually I am going to go command ship.. or BS... Am not sure.. but I am looking for the hardest hitting upclose and personel weapon.. if i wanted range i would of stayed with my Caldari alt in her raven.. that char is turning into my ratting and money getting ... so I am wondering what the best pvp hard hitting.. but a tank would still be a preciated... but upclose and personel.
