yah i spent all this isk fleet fitting a geddon only to have it DD'd out from under me less then 6 hours later...
Either nerf DD + Cyno jumping or im not flying anything but a tech I cruiser with tech I fitting...
And yah, that was a expensive ship with fittings, as I was specificaly asked to fit it with the best I could muster..

2 plates + damage control and any battleship should be able to survive a DD blast. Nonetheless, they are terribly overpowered.

Yah unfortunetly for me, I was emailed a list of fleet ships and their respective fit outs, and the geddon had no tank at all. They wanted a sentry sniper, and yet i never got more then 15k from any gate...

No offense to the op but I gotta agree with this comment. Everyone loves a sweet setup but I would rather have two BS fitted descent for the price it would take me to fit one uber BS because you will lose your ship somehow. If it wasn't the DD it would have been a gank squad, if not a gank squad it would be a NOS Domi, if not a NOS Domi...
See where I'm going with this?

Erm, I would say that the problem lies in your fleetmaster, NOT in the DD ... you were specifically asked to bring a ship with absolutely no tank to a battle where a Titan might be ... to me, it seems like the person who "specifically asked" you to bring that ship was either sorely misinformed about your opponents, or simply wanted to waste ISK ...

This issue is with your FC, Corp, or alliance.
If they insist you bring a fleet fit ship, then insist on the fitting of the ship, then insist on where the ship is and how it is used then you only have them to blame when it pops. It was a poor fit that got you popped. DDs are fine for the time being. They are meant to destroy fleets and that's what they do. BPO and BPC sales |

Can't say that enough. Sounds like the OP didn't follow this rule.

since it has been said so much but can never be said enough dont fly what you cant afford to have blown up
if your corp incists you fly something you cant afford then they are being idiots or perhaps you are not hearing them correctly either way, a pilot in a bad ass ship that becomes useless once it pops or one in a medium ship that can keep coming back forever....... between those choices I say take the second every time

So your fleet commander was crap, we should nerf the DD due to this? Get real.
If I was flying under Talon I'd only fit T1 Cruisers as well.

What to fly when the darkness looms?
I guess you answered it yourself. Since i doubt they gonna nerf DDs everytime someone gets upset one blew them up... your kinda stuck w/ t1 cruiser w/ t1 fitting?
Fly what you can afford to lose as others mentioned. #1 rule to being a successful pvper.
No matter how good i think the odds are for or against me, I expect to wake up in a pod everytime i ask for gang.
You would be wise to expect the same.

I'm having great success with my full unamed T1-fitted Caracal tbh. Other good choices would be Omen, Rax, Celestis, Stabber or Rupture.
Anyways, IBTL |
