Is there a remote skill training option that I'm not aware of? If so please tell me.
As I'm going of for the holidays to visit my family and all that stuff, I'm without a computer with EVE online installed or a computer that can handle EVE online. Therefor it would be fantastic if you can set your skills without logging in to the actual game.
I've often been in this situation as my skill queue has 1 day and 17 hours left and I'm leaving for the holidays in 10 hours. I'm not very happy to give my account and pass info to anybody else, so therefor I must take a skill that only trains in 6 days, as I'm gone in 12 days, and dosen't have anything to do with things I wanna train for...
A simple solution to that is a remote skill training option, maybe through HP or a Application. If there is one please tell me about it, if not please support the idea of a remote skill training system for either the HP or APPs for smartphones I'm not the only one in this position, and would like to hear a EVE response. Sadly, there isn't one. YET.
You'll just have to change your current skillqueue to include a 11+ day skill at the very end of it. Even if you don't necessarily want that skill. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Contributor_name:Akita_T#Contributions_link_collection |

Sorry mate, there is currently no out of game skill training changer.
You are going to have to set your longest skill going and be done with it.
I would suggest finding one that is as close as possible to 24 hours then queue your londest skill after that one.
And what you have to ask yourself is this - Is not skilling for 4 days really such problem. Is it really going to affect the times when you are playing Eve?
Happy Holidays!

There's no direct application to do it, but there are some roundabout ways. One I have used in the past involves using some sort of remote desktop program such as Teamviewer to remotely access your home PC via a laptop, boot up EVE and change your skill queue. You won't be able to play, but it should be enough to set a skill. Blog - Through Newb Eyes Twitter - TG_3 |

Ye, but that is my problem, I'm not able to set the 11+ day skill before the skill is done :( I'm well aware of the skill training system. But this is annoying, that there isen't an alternative to the skill queue. |

That's an innovative idea I like to hear :) Thank you for the response, I'll try doing so. |

About Teamviewer and such... Well, yeah, can work, but leaving a gaming PC turned on unsupervised for 12 days while on a holiday... not exactly a very attractive proposal for the more paranoid of us (maybe the OP doesn't have that problem though). I suppose you could set it to wake up / turn on at hour X and turn off a while later, and only login during that window, but that's a lot of effort. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Contributor_name:Akita_T#Contributions_link_collection |

Just put in one of those long skills that you never had the patience to train before. Come back from your holiday and be greeted by a skill that's soon lvl 5. I remember training amarr cruiser V while I was going away to celebrate yule. Nowadays I have more patience for long skills but back then I did not and probably wouldn't have trained it if I hadn't been gone from eve for 2 weeks. |

How much SP do you have total ? And if it's high, what, did you already train most of what you wanted to L5 already ? Then a 6-day break (the difference) won't be all that tragic. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Contributor_name:Akita_T#Contributions_link_collection |

How much SP do you have total ? It's got to be either pretty low or pretty high. And if it's high, what, did you already train most of what you wanted to L5 already ? I have around 6 mill SP, kinda of new to the game. And still learning. But I've mapped my char for full Perception and secondly Willpower. I have bought +4 augmentation for both skills and currently training for tengu (Caldari Cruiser training skill must be 5). By doing so I've cut the skill training by 6-7 days so it is now 17 days instead of 23-24ish. That's a whole week. But by doing so my skill that needs Intellect and Memory is set high on the training list. I used a remap for it, so I'm loosing alot of time by training memory and intellect, I'm also doing this so I won't be that far behind, since it's really hard to take it from the beginning as people dominates you on most lvls. |
