Greetings fellow Redditors and Capsuleers!
Some of you will know who I am and what has happened some of you will not. I am not here to rehash the the incident so I will not be going over it or retelling it. Just here to properly and personally show my gratitude to those who displayed awesome character and respect to me.
I read ALL of your messages and replies on all 3 sub reddit threads. I was not able to respond to all of your messages personally so I wanted to thank you all for the support openly here in hope that you will see it. I was not aware of the Reddit X-Post from /r/TIFU to the EVE sub /r/EVE till later on. Thus many of my replies where many days late.
I am very grateful for all of your support and kind words of encouragement. It's the first time in my 8 or 9 years of EVE that I have had that type of in game support reach me in my real life. To know I did the right thing. Which is what led me to write the initial post to start with. I just wanted assurance or some sort of closer that I did the right thing. And did I get it. From thousands of Redditors and hundreds of EVE players. So thank you. It has really been helping with my recovery.
And with that I leave you now. Again I thank you.
P.S Thank you CCP for the new Hoodie. You guys/girls rock! = )

He assisted to apprehend a thief from a 7/11 who had severely smashed the face of a little girl (broken teeth, facial damage) and bystanders thought he was beating on the thief (with 3 7/11 employees that also tried to apprehend the criminal), so he was beaten up by the bystanders, stabbed by the thief and hit by a car (or along those lines).
It went pretty viral after he posted initial details while in hospital.
The thief ended up getting away while the OP was being beaten by the bystanders, but was then arrested a few hours later when he went to an emergency ward.

I have been stealing from such shops when younger, just little things. And even when some people have probably seen this, no one reacted. And in the case of they catching me, I would just say I forgot it was under this empty plastic bag in the basket. What is wrong with people where you live?

You did the right thing, OP. Hope things do go well for the little girl. If the guy goes to prison for hurting her and robbery (and I hope he does) and the other guys in there find out he hurt a kid, things might not be so fun for him.
