Edited by: Bo Shek on 01/03/2007 05:39:06 I have seen a lot of people with AMD 64 bit processors say they are experiencing the same problem as me so I thought I would share. I have already filed a bug report. I'm interested what others have tried to get this to work.
What happens is when I log into the client, I select my character and then click on enter game. I get all the way to the "Entering Station", then the game crashes and I get the "CCP Blue Framework" error.

**If this gets posted more than once I apologize. I'm having trouble logging into the EVE Forums and posting this :S**
I am running Windows Vista and I'm getting the exact same "CCP Blue Framework" error. I Tried logging in many many times but didn't work. It get to the character screen and I select my characer, starts loading the station I'm docked in and then I get the error and it crashes.
Now, here is a list of things I tried to get it working (in order of me remembering them) that DID NOT work:
Restarting EVE. Restarting my computer. Running all the EVE .exe files in the EVE folder with Windows XP (with Serivce Pack 2) compatability. Turning off the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) thing for EVE. Completely uninstalling and deleting any left over copies of EVE on my computer, downloading a fresh copy from eve-online.com, installing that, getting the latest patch for that, and logging in. Turning off the sound in the character screen. Disabling the Windows Firewall. Disabling Windows Defender. Lowering/Disabling any and all security settings for Windows and the Internet/Intranet that I could. Downloading and installing the latest version of Direct X from the Microsoft Website. Restarting my computer after all things mentioned above (excluding "Restarting my computer" :P)
I read a post about too much data coming into a computer when logging EVE, and it said to try and turn off any firewall on a router (btw I'm using a router on a home network). But I can't access my router on my computer, so I can't turn that off atm. I tried turning off Windows Firewall like I said above but that didn't work.
I gave my account info to a friend and they were able to log on my accounts and change my skills for me on their computer (using Windows XP I believe).
Another friend from EVE was helping me figure out what was going wrong with it (she works at Microsoft so figured she know what's up). We were onto making a bug report using a debugger tool from Microsoft, but it didn't seem to be making one. I had to go so we didn't finish it working on it. Her friend (who is using Vista btw) was having a problem logging into EVE as well (he also works at Microsoft) and I don't think he found a way to get on yet.
Now, here's the kicker. I left my alt up and running on February 28th when I went to bed. It disconnected him before/when downtime started that day. After downtime that day, I could no longer log on my main, or alt, or any account on my computer running Windows Vista. Up until downtime on February 28th, I had no problems with EVE (except the occasional disconnect but whatever, everyone gets that). Now, I've been reading the forums, and all the posts that I've read, of people getting the exact same problem, are posted AFTER downtime on February 28th, 2007. So, something tells me CCP did something during downtime that won't let many Vista users log on their accounts. And please don't tell me "EVE is not supported by Vista, so it's a miracle you can logon in the first place" etc. Cause seems everyone was fine running EVE on Vista up until after downtime on February 28th...
I'm at a loss as what else to do :S Please help.

By the way my system specs aren't as good as the two mentioned above. I'm using some Intel processor 2.4 GHz I believe. About 3GB of RAM, only got one graphics card and some other crap :P So I highly doubt that is the problem.

By the way hey viro, nice to know not the only one in corp to have this issue. Just spoke to someone ingame via VERY slow laptop. Apparently lots of people have this issue, good portion of our corp. some are running xp and some vista. Oh and my sys specs are identical to viro's exceptI have 7600gt graphics with 256mb. Hmm apparently ccp have got a lot of bug reports on this and are trying to fix issue now. BTW I set my vista to 32 bit how do I set to 64bit?. Hope this issue gets done fast as I am going into withdrawls :). How many others could not auto patch the last patch, think it may be related

not sure this is relevant but after the last time I tried to login as I try every hour :). I found a small msg bottom right corner saying "ccp blue framework disabled click baloon for details", something like that any. Anyhow I clicked the baloon and this is what it says
"Change Data Execution Prevention settings
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that helps prevent damage from viruses and other security threats by monitoring your programs to make sure they use system memory safely.
If you choose to protect all programs, you can still turn off DEP for individual programs. If you suspect that a program does not run correctly when DEP is turned on, check for a DEP-compatible version of the program or an update from the software publisher before you change any DEP settings.
Click to open System.
Click Advanced System Settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Under Performance, click Settings.
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
To turn off DEP for an individual program Select the check box next to the program that you want to turn off DEP for, and then click OK.
If the program is not in the list, click Add. Browse to the Program Files folder, find the executable file for the program (it will have an .exe file extension), and then click Open.
To turn on DEP for an individual program Clear the check box next to the program that you want to turn on DEP for, and then click OK.

Different install. I believe Microsoft is offering some sort of "contact us and we'll get you 64 bit" but I don't know if the versions are all ready yet and so forth.

When I installed the fresh copy I auto patched when I opened EVE. That didn't work.

I think what all that is saying is that eve is trying to access system memory in some 'unsafe' way. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the new voice system, or if it's integrated graphics. Anyone not using integrated intel graphics having this problem?

Hmm, quite odd. I recently installed Vista 64-bit Ultimate onto a new PC and whilst the system was generally quite unstable, EVE actually ran extremely well on it (was getting upwards of 210fps in station and still pretty damn high when undocked) although I did notice it was using considerably more CPU (85% across both cores of the e6600 core duo on Vista as opposed to around 52% across both cores on my old X2 4400 on XP).
I've since reverted that system to XP until Vistas gets better driver/hardware support.
Are there any dual-core Athlon drivers/optimization fixes for Vista? I know I had issues with Eve and other games on XP before I installed those on my previous setup. .

It worked on mine and I'm now playing EVE. Did you put that in the prefs.ini file without the quote marks? Usually it's somehting like that.
I can play, but now it's really laggy when I play in 1280x1024 in windowed mode....wth

So what do I do if I don't have a cache folder? I don't see a prefs.ini file either. This is a new install and I've never successfully logged in yet so maybe that's why? Can I just make the file? Where should I place it?

well I copied a friends prefs.ini file, made the proper edits, and made a cache directory inside the Eve folder and I still can't get in. It still crashes at "Entering Station". I get the message the CCP Blue Framework has stopped working. Any other advice?

You should get a cache folder and prefs.ini file if you do a fresh install. Maybe after you install if you have to try logging in? I made a fresh install and was able to access my prefs.ini file :S Dunno what to tell ya man. You should have that file once you install and try to login :S

Look in the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\CCP\EVE\cache for your pref.ini file.
That were I found mine after I reinstalled eve. You will have to turn on show hidden files and folders to see the AppData folder

Great thanks for that, I saw the file before but it was the hidden one that did it. Thankyou very much :)

I used the solution as pointed out by Adumh
Originally by: Adunh Slavy This seems to fix the probelm for Vista ...
addto prefs.ini "voiceenabled=0"

but not just in the regular install folder but ALSO in the prefs.ini file mention here

and it finally worked. But where did this problem spring from. All was OK last night and i had not amended anything yet this error sprung up.

ok there are two places you have to change in pref file C:\Program Files{X86)\CCP\EVE\Cache\Folder and C:/users/yourusername/appdata/local/virtual/program files/ccp/eve
voiceenabled=0
then Vista will work :)

I dunno, i guess there too busy working on current patches, they need to fix the voiceenabled to be compatible for vista, as they say its all a test at the moment. now they know what the problem is. they need the feedback!
