Lots of people have to log off to save their pods - especially in bubbles... Your pod has NO chance to survive in a bubble. Even if not bubbled you will most likely get scrambled anyway due to the lag from SESSION CHANGE. I once lost a pod because when I right clicked a planet and was about to click warp and then I couldn't click for 2-4 seconds due to changing to pod from ship. That might have been intended by CCP or not, but I have though about this..:
When a ship is destroyed the pod will just spawn in the middle of the debris - why doesnŠt the pod get catapulted away when the ship goes to out of control state?
I suggest that when you end up in a pod you should get catapulted 25-30km in a random direction (at a 3-5k m/s)... That would mean the aggressor would have to work to catch your pod instead of just clicking and hoping for a fast lock (but still doable as the catapulting will take a few seconds before the pod can warp away).
The POD should be invincible while being catapulted or this change will definately kill more pods than it'll save...

If you look at the ship explosion carefully , you will see the pod moving away from the ship/wreck a bit for 2-3 seconds. It's already being catapulted , just with a momentum that doesn't squish your frail body against the pod hull
That said , it would be funny to have a pod catapult low slot module. Would look much funnier in battles that stabs or logging indeed.

I recently got podded, it was 100% because I was in a bubble, yet refused to log to save it.
The only other time I got podded...it was 2004 and I was still a noob.
The 'lag' only makes a difference if you are inexperienced...people still there in their pod deserve to lose it. _________________________ ~Thor Xian, Material Defender

There is a very easy way to survive the session change.
When your ship is about to explode (or you can see that you will lose), target a planet, sun, asteroid belt or whatnot that you can warp to. As the ship explodes, hit the "Warp to" button in the overview. Just keep clicking untill you are actually in warp.
Saved me about 100 times out of 102.

Not that simple. I lost a hurricane two days ago from a gatecamp. I knew my ship was going to pop (not complaining about that). I aligned my ship towards a planet and frantically pressed the warp to button. after my ship popped, the session change was around 4-5 seconds. During that entire time I pressed the warp to button atleast 20 times. The moment I had control of the game again I was in a station. Pod killed by a hurricane - 720mm!. I dont give a **** what mods he had, the lock time is 5x longer than it would take me to warp. There was no bubble. I checked my logs, pod wasnt scrambled.
The first two years I played this game, i never once lost a pod. The last three times ive lost a ship, ive lost my pod because of the goddamn session change. Its a 4-5 second change, when it use to be almost instantly. Minus the session change, I dont have a problem with lag in this game.
In the future, I'll just ******* log. Im tired of it. I went two years without once losing a pod. I have a 4-5 second session change, the other guy has a 4-5 second locktime window. its bull****

Right, if you eject, they will have to lock you and change the target of their scrambler. The lock time is already long, but deactivating the scrambler can make you loose enough time for a pod to warp (even if already locked).
Also, when you begin to hit too hard the warp button, it seems it only gets worse... -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! Flying Vexor and Ishkur, Myrmidon was too slow, got ganked by 3 BC and a Megathron...

You know. I wish people would realize that there is situations you are just simply not meant to survive. One of those are being in a pod in a warpbubble.
