Does anyone else think that the time limit before an agent gives up on offering yo a particular mission is a tad too long? PErhaps havingto wait one month before an agent offers you a different mission is a bit excessive?

just a bit
especially as when you refuse a mission you lose so much standing

would have to agree, esp when the mission is something like "we need this film delivered to it's primer you got 1 hour!" I suspect it would nto be so urgent a month later =(

Does it tell you long the timeout is? I can't see it anywhere.

Have to agree.
1 month timeout is OTT to the extreme ________________________________

It was made this long after a certain change went in, which makes all offered missions which expire equal a declined mission. And now all missions have the decline option anyway, so if you don't want it, decline it.
I just had Papa lessen the decline penalty quite a bit, so declining them won't be as much of a pain in the ass. But ignoring your agent will no longer be tolerated!

how much was it lowered by? declining a mission was resulting in a 0.3 drop with your personal faction with yoru agent, (where as completing a mission is giving 0.02) 15 for 1 is pretty harsh just to break even, considering with the faction adjustments from castor that most people are sitting right on the boarder of min faction just to speak to thier agent.
Thus, if they fail but 1 mission in the first 15 they do, they can no longer speak to them, and must work thier corp faction up to that level, (which in most cases is 2 or 3 points lower, and requires some 120-160 level 2 agent missions).

So ... as of now, there's no way to find out what mission your agent is going to offer you until after he does so, at which point, you MUST accept it or lose standing?
Is it meant to be that way? Are we no longer allowed to pick and choose, so that we can avoid "take this 1 unit of garbage on a 26-jump round trip for 200ISK?"

well, now letting an offer expire results in a 0.04 hit (same as decline). But, if you fail an active mission you get nailed with a 0.3 hit. jus found that out trying a mission where i had to kill 2 npcs..

Mh - had a different experience. I had to decline a not yet accepted mission because I had to leave the computer - it gave me a 0.3 standing hit to this lvl III agent. Quite hard I think. There should be a way to tell an agent that you are very sorry but currently not able to accept this special mission. Which should result in _no_ standing hit. Maybe limit this option to once a day or so ...

Edited by: Lutien on 18/12/2003 11:03:18 i have ingnored my agent, did not read much over it at the boards, but now evry time i open my agent list all agent that i have ignored is sending me a mail lowering my standing, a corp mate of mine saw his space lane patrol go down from 3 to -7 . cince yesterday the missions where buged i looked around a lot to all my new agents and what kind of missions they hade to ofer so in a couple of day's time i won't have any standing at all at least negative standing. this system will only kit agent players to one agent the best they can play. i think it is not a good idea. so could ccp correct the standings again and also wipe the mission logs during down time.

We've all got very used to the trick where you could see in the journal what mission you were about to be offered, and not bother actually being offered it if it was a crappy mission.
If that's no longer supposed to be possible - if there is, now, no way of being offered a mission and then not taking and completing it, other than by taking a standings hit - well, that's acceptable, but it would be nice to know that officially. Maybe it was in the patch notes and I missed it ... does anyone know for certain?
It does seem, from my experiences so far, that once a mission has been offered, your choices are:
Decline - standings hit. Ignore - standings hit when the offer expires Take, then abandon - standings hit. Take, and complete - standings rise.
My questions are: is this how it's supposed to be? And if so .. how big are the various hits and rises supposed to be, and are they that size in actual fact? I'm aware that there are major problems with agent missions, so I'm assuming the answer to the last part of my question is "no." But I need to know the others to work out how best to deal with my agents.

Another question is how quickly are the standings decreasing for the other factions? I have tried to check my standings but find that I cannot keep up with it's ice-floe pace. Haven't failed or declined a mission yet, but have had no increase in my sec rating despite killing a 30K rat, and imperceptible changes in faction standing.

Why do we get penalties when declining them? We don't even get a hint if it's a courier in low sec space, a kill mission or just getting some minerals.
And level 1 agents still give missions that goes into 0.3 and 0.2 sectors.

Well thanks for nothing! How about TELLING us when you make changes liek this? I have 15 missions waiting for when I pick them up. Yesterday I had a month to choose to accept them in. Today when I log in I have between 2-16 hours depending on the agent. And now you tell us that we'll be penalised for mission we don't accept? So in other words I lose 29 days to accept the mission in and also get penalised for it?
Classy. Reeeaaalll classy.

What's wrong with 0.3 and 0.2? It's not like anyone will be at the jump in...
And sabahl, requesting 15 jobs from 15 agents was sort of asking for trouble. .

No. It wasn't. Firstly because we're allowed to be offered them and then just not take them up - except that now we're not, but nobody told him that. And secondly because he has a month to take them up anyway - but now he doesn't, because they yanked the rug from under him.
