I came accross a Raven loadout on BattleClinic that I quite like the look of for PvP, it was quite highly rated over there and I was just wondering what everyone else thought...
Hi: 6 x 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I 2 x Heavy Nosferatu II
Med: 1 x X-Large Shield Booster II 1 x Shield Boost Amplifier I 3 x Invulnerability Field II 1 x Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I
Low: 3 x Ballistic Control System II 1 x Reactor Control Unit II 1 x Co-Processor II
Drones: 2 x Berserker II 2 x Valkyrie II 1 x Warrior II
Ammo: Paradise Cruise Missile Devastator Cruise Missile
The actual loadout itself is located Here but I think you need to join BattleClinic to view it, if you haven't already.
Any good adjustments I should make?
Thanks.

This is for gangs then due to you not having a disruptor fitted.

I could probably drop a BCU for a Disruptor then?

And as for the price, I'm hoping this won't cost me any more than about 180million ISK, I already have the ship and a few of those items...

midslot != lowslot
Nice setup but expensive. I'd go with T2 KIN, EM, THE hardeners instead of three invu fields, and medium nosferatus instead of large so you can ditch the RCU, same for the XL-II, use a C5-L so you can ditch the coprocessor and instead fit two pdu.

it looks good on paper, but when u loose 3 of those in a row.....u would reconsider...
fit zw-9000 cruises - they r just over 1 mil each fit v-m15 invulnerability fields - they r 1 mil each ballistic controls t2 nice...10 mil each....
i used to fly expensive setups, but in real pvp it doesnt realy matter whether u got t2 inv or t1....cause focused damage is way more then any bs can take

Hi,
In gang i use a similar setup but without those fittingmods:
High; 6x cruise t2, 2x heavy dim nos
Med; XL CL5 booster, boostamp, t2 em hardner, 2x t2 invul field, med electrochemical cap booster with 800 charges.
Low; 2x BCU t2 and 3x PDU t2
5x t2 hammerheads

I've never really used these Forums much before now and I'm not the best with abbreviations, what are KIN, EM and THE?
Thanks, Daniel.

kinetic, electromagnetic and thermal damage, respectively. Three specific hardeners will yield similar final resistances against the damage types most often used (being kinetic and thermal) while using up less cap then three invu fields and being significantly cheaper.

Final noob question, I haven't gone into looking this up yet but a simple google search didn't reveal any answers.
I have been out of the game for about 8 months, and...what the hell are Rigs? What do they do?

you several types: launcher, speed, electronics etc etc. They boost a certain atribute of your ship or weapon. Some rigs have drawbacks and some don't.
Look at the new market entrance, ship modifications to see whats out there.
Cheers,
Jan

Why can't I find any KIM, EM and THE Hardeners anywhere that take a Medium Slot?

'Cause they aren't named like "explosive shield hardener" but photon scattering field II etc. Just go look at market, shields -> hardeners. Seek for names with "II" at the end.

I have a feeling you will not be able to use most things with a "II" at the end. But Don't always use best named, most best named Caldari favorite items are very $$$$. Go with the 2nd best or what you can aford.
Rigs are exactly like implants, once they are on your ship, only exploding or repackaging can remove them and then they are gone. The Raven enjoys have 3 CCC (Capacitor Control Console I) rigs.
