The Low Friction Nozzle Joints Rig gives a 15% agility bonus whereas teh best named or t2 istab gives a 15% inertia reduction AND 15% mass reduction. Does that mean the Low Friction Nozzle Joints Rig performs the same as half a good inertial stab?

let's just say that if you can't cram any more istabs, you can always slap some LF nozzles for a bit more agility. -------

The ship I'm thinking of is a Drake. I fit 3 BCU IIs and one Istab in low. The thing has a fat ass and needs the extra agility...
But still doesn't answer the question: Is a Low Friction Nozzle Joints Rig the same as half an Inertia Stab or....?

To simplify:
Will 1 x Inertia stab and 1 x Low Friction Nozzle Joint give same or similar performance to 2 x inertia stabs?

Edited by: kill0rbunny on 01/03/2007 14:08:48 Poor Drake.
Drakes hate Inertia Rigs, the only rig they want is Core Defence Field Purger, to boost their massive passive tank.
What the hell are you trying to do here?

You think the Drake is a ****** now, you should have flown battlecruisers before they boosted the agility. They are positively nimble now. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:

Polycarbon Engine Housing gives a 15% mass reduction Low Friction Nozzle Joint gives 15% agility.
Seems that if you equate Inertia Reduction to Agility (same little winged icon on both) then it would seem reasonable that each rig is half an IStab, yes.

Decrease in mass > Increase in agility.
Thats why mass is stacking penalized and agility is not.

Try flying a freighter... now there is a fat arse. *Everything* seems to be agile when you're used to flying an Obelisk all around.

Thanks for your replies. As for I'm doing, I'll explain. I love teh Drake. With pretty maxed out skills this ship is the pwn. I have solo'd battleships in 1 on 1 PVP in my Drake. Problem comes when you have to do a runner. Only time I ever die in roaming gangs is when we get blobbed and run the gates - the thing doesn't align and get to warp quick enough. I just transported a Drake across 30 jumps and fit 3 istabs for the journey and it handled really nice. So want to get that agility without having to give up to much damage or tank. Currently fit a thermal shield rig, core defence field extender x 2 so would be giving up shield HP for agility but I think it would be worth it.
