Been on the test server for a bit... and I've hit an issue testing carrier ratting.
When you warp in, grab aggro, all is fine... you deploy fighters and start doing your thing, eventually the rats will all drop aggro and target the fighters, thats fine...
Recall fighters, refuel, relaunch while being redboxed, and within TWO SECONDS the entire anomaly drops aggro and starts shooting fighters (sometimes even oneshotting with the alpha from the bses)
I tried recalling/relaunching 5 times ina row with increasing waits, once i waited 3 whole minutes, relaunched, immediate aggro drop.
You cant fit ecm burst with network sensor array, and remote reps need you to have more than 2 seconds to target a fighter squad at times...... so what is the solution to this?
tldr; YES I RECALLED MY DRONES multiple times. they cant even get in range to use abilities before being blapped. That is the issue, is this a bug or intended? |

This seems unfair. AI isn't supposed to be intelligent, it's just a saying. The guys promised me virtual afk carrier ratting.
I put in a petition and a bug report. It cant' be working as intended. |

Sure. They should also fit ewar and ecm scram ratially anyone who uses anything but carriers by your logic.
And when you get jamed/scrammed warp in their new capitals because it would be "intelligent"
Or read what actually happened and quit pretending you have the comprehension of a stick :P. The issue isn't aggro, it's immediate and uncounterable aggro that results in a) losing several fighters in a single hub (few 10mil cost) OR b) recalling/relaunching resulting in <20mil ticks.
I know I've taken your bait heavily... but i will go one step further and ask: With the new carriers how the hell can you afk?

The issue is compounded due to the lack of the ability to repair the new fighters so you are essentially burning through them at an insane rate, or recalling the fighters so much that you might as well just use a dread or anything else. The older fighter mechanics was a million times better in this regard. You could recall the specific fighter taking damage and repair it and, back then, the fighters still dealt resonable dps and weren't hadicapped by silly mechanics.
Now you'd have to bring the whole squadron in just to repair just one fighter... this doesn't include having to recall them every other minute to reload missiles.
It would have made sense if CCP then gave the regular fighters the ability to repair themselves but NO, lets give it to the fighters that have absolutely no reason whatsoever to exist in the first place. A nightmare with pulses can hit fighters fairly easy for decent damage. Why do we need special fighters to fight other fighters when regular ships can hit them just fine?
The new fighters have potential but they are only balanced for pvp. You can manage in PVE but be prepared to throw fighters away for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than fancy half-thoughtout mechanics. Those who were responsible for testing them out should feel ashamed.

If your fighters are getting "immediate" aggro. Try ejecting from your ship in space, reboarding and see if that helps. |

Carrier Ratting .. done a lot of careful reading
SKILLS : You need fighter IV and Drone skills to V as some apply to fighters. Your shields / armour / hull skills need to be high ( MAXED IF POSSIBLE) big numbers mean even small % boosts are great. Cap skills / warp skills / navigation skills targetting skills need to be high... seriously ... fast target and targets ready as kills roll in .... you should be extremely well grounded in your skills.
Some types better than others... Thanos or Nidhoggur ( Due to dam bonus - and speed bonus with Nid)
Fit with NSA as dramatically helps targeting and hitting small targets ( Frigates and Cruisers) Penalty is you can't use electronic targetting as NSA locks that off.
Omni directional mods and Drone Damadge mods ( Tech II and/or faction if possible) max Fighter speed and damage.
Targetting Priority : Frigates then Cruiser ( Autocannons ) Battlecruiser then Battleship ( Use Missiles as well)
[ Older posts say use missiles to one shot Frigates but this has been Nerfed ]
Don't launch anything till you are aligned for escape... POS if possible / Citadel close warp in / Safe spot ( but need to have a cloak in hi slot for this to avoid being scanned down and killed anyway)
finally a cyno alt ready to light up in jump range at Citadel or POS in another system so you can light and jump out.
Fighters specific to RAT weaknesses, T2 fighters seem significantly better than T1 as you would expect.
ISK will only roll in if you can chain anoms... so really needs SOV space in NULL... and good intel channel and reliable corp on channel. ( as last wave of anom comes in align to next anom) helps having LOTS of anoms... gankers have to find you in right one and local gives you a chance to run.
ROLL ALL WORMHOLES.. seriously a dumb risk with Wormhole to rat with Capital.
Know the anom... how many waves / when will frigates spawn / when will Battleships... you should run out of missiles on fighters as anom finishes.
Fighter reppers... varied opinions... some swear they are great but many say range is to large to use them.. play with them and see I guess. I plan to have em just in case.
Do some roids or easy anoms to get good at clicking to target fast/ set priorities on targets/ select which targets get a missile or not LOL.
This approach should ( or something close that suits your style) should get you past your fighter agro problems and max isk in anoms :-)
And if your going to die make certain you take a lot of em with you LOL.
