Hi. I want to dismantle a POS. Most of it is easy, but I've gotten stuck on the armaments. I cannot remove ammunition from them and, of course, cannot unanchor them when they have ammo in them. Clicking and dragging the ammo from them to my ship cargo does not work. R-clicking on the ammo and selecting "Transfer to Cargo" does not work. It doesn't matter whether the armaments are on or offline when I attempt either.
Suggestions/solutions greatly appreciated. Thx!

I doubt you are doing anything wrong
This is bugged at the minute and has been since the last patch - I've sent a bug report and petitioned it
I'd suggest you petition if you need to take the tower down - hopefully they'll do something about it soon |

If you are in a hurry to get the tower down, just offline the tower and blow up your guns. You can then unanchor the tower. A bit wasteful but it worked for me.

If access to more guns isn't a problem it can actually be cheaper to blow up the guns and then go ratting. In the time you spend ratting instead of waiting for guns to unanchor you make back the cost of replacements. That's true for smalls. Medium and Large are iffier and depend on rat quality (and if you have really good rats you probably have really bad access to new guns).
I worked this out while spending a day unanchoring a large deathstar equipped with a mix of small and mediums.
As an aside, you can fit 88 small blasters on an Amarr Control tower. That's 14 hours, 40 minutes of unanchoring plus another 2 hours for the tower. |
