use this topic so hopefully when its big and ccp knows everyones feeling about it they listen to us.
My view is that Mwd's have been nerfed to a completly unrealistic level. first 50% less shield and 25% less cap (not too bad) but now 25% less on both and 750 cap usage per 10 secs , a lower max speed increase and longer trveling between jumpgates is stupid. now your gonna get screwed by frigates following you at 500m whilst warp jaming you and pirates picking you off from a distance and no way to escape bar a miracle with a fof cruise missle or a few heavys. traveling in 0.0 space will become mind numingly boring and i doubt many will even bother with the long journeys anymore. so much for ccp trying to entice people in b/s's into non-empire space, its def not gonna happen now. i could just about live with mwd's if there max speed increase was in the 700-800% range and they only need to tweak the cap usage down to around 3-400 per 10 secs. big enough drain so you cant keep them going indefinate but not so big as to totaly screw up b/s traveling. you can got warp in this game and travel 80au and not even use half your cap but now your cap is empty in a matter of seconds, figure that one out. not even bother gonna start on a/b's as its pretty much the same. so ideally :
1) cap usage for all mwd's + a/b's reduced 2) higher speed % boost 3) maybe a bit slower accelration due to mass
i actually like the fact that each ship class has its own a/b and mwd, just dont get too happy with the nerf bat

I actually like the changes to MWDs and ABs. It makes sense that frigates should be able to move faster than huge capital ships -- that gives them some kind of tactical use in battles. It just seems wrong that an indy or a cruiser could strap on a few ABs and outrun something like an Incursus. Now that's much harder to do, which is fine by me.
I do think the rats are too tough, though.

Edited by: Lockheed on 17/12/2003 20:50:43 your wrong, no indy could outrun an incursus. highest i ever got my indy's speed upto with nanofiber type E's was 950. No engines. A more realistic approach would be that the indy's move slower when full, and you have to expend energy to slow down. If my indy does not do 450 atleast, then its a dead indy.
Dont forget with bigger ships comes bigger engines, more power to move those things... So a frigate should not be able to have enough power to jump if bs's should not be able to manuever quicker. 1 mwd the old way was very acceptable nerfed as it was.. Now you'll just sit there and not move forever while killin rats. Im gonna spawn big when i get back to 0.0, though its gonna take me about 1 week of my time to get there. :(
