Have the devs ever ganged in on the game to get some pew pew? Not with their secret characters but with their public mains. In tranquility, not sisi. I think it would make a lot of forum posters happier if they could give them a chance to pew pew. Like an event or something.
It could go something like this:
> Dev1 enters local, creates cyno. > Dev2, Dev3... DevX jump in and smacktalks in local "Haha, we have nerfed your missions, WTZ, WCS, NOS, MWD...!" "All your bases belong to us!" > And then a global aggro counter activates. All pilots against the devs.

back in the good 'ol days, a corp named m0o forced the gm team to kick them around at Mara due to they killed everything..
again, it was before my time so i cant really say if its true or not.
beside that ive seen a ccp dev/dm whatever in a jove bs in tennerifis or immensea a few years back and all the locals tried to gank him, didnt succeed tho :/

The m0o thing is true, Though it was the Mara/Passari camp.
M0o had that area locked down for like 2 weeks, iirc, and it was one of the most active travel routes at the time. GMs flying as 'concord special forces' came in to gank the m0o camp.
Since then, there have been several events where ISD actors have actively pew pew'd people. Mostly in 0.0, and as far as im aware, mostly in the fountain region area, playing as Serpentis. A few occasions isd actors would just appear a few nights in nifty vindicators and the like, spawn a crap load of npcs and die. Other occasions they would bring dreads and stuff and pew pew poses. They even had an event a while back where serps stole a titan from the Gallente and flew it through a few regions to Serpentis Prime
Im still KOS to all serp event actors for killing a serp dread ---------

From eve wiki:
"The 'm0o situation' got so big, that developers were forced to intervene on several occasions. A few weeks into the camp, a force of developer-controlled CONCORD battleships arrived in Passari. m0o pilots were quick to escape, although one brave pilot, The Reverend, made the decision of going up against the attacking force. His cruiser was destroyed in a single shot. This is the only reported incident of developers interacting with the playerbase in such a manner, and is widely regarded as having been a bad decision.
Another instance of developer interaction occurred when m0o pilots camping a gate in Mara were transferred to seemingly random locations in space. The reasoning behind this decision is still unknown, and the effect did not last for long as the m0o pilots were back in Mara a few hours later."
When I started playing eve mOo was still a legendary corp, feared throughout the universe, in my first eve-radio event we had a frig/noob ship blob into ec-p to go chase them, fun ol days.
Back to the subject, no I haven't seen GM's or devs playing the game besides general petition answers. Tho we know some play, missioning, etc, t20 even lead the BoB capital ship fleet.

Other than the m0o incident mentioned previously, we acted like this on TQ, nor will we. At the minimum, that would be breaking immersion and the 'suspension of belief'. There would probably be complaints of favortism, harassment or abuse in light of recent events, and while fun, it would not be a worthwhile endeavour. However, due to the lack of permanence on Singularity, this has happened in the past and will probably happen again in the future. Dev targets are always popular when testing new content such as Cap ships.

I remember the fleet stress testing in Sisi a few months back. That was great fun even if it was "work" Several devs/GM's in cap ships pwn'ing us left and right \o/

In the old days we depended on dev's to actually see what what was going on, and they were players just like us, to feel and experienice the emotion of adrenaline what the f*** we were letting out... it was awesome... nowadays they are more of like in a distance, and they feelm i'm sure, they feel what we feel... but sometimes i wish they were here just to have the real feeling what we do, and what we encounter...

You are not smart. You are speaking of 1 incident, when there are many more devs that play the game. They DO experience the same stuff as us. They do get the same feeling when they encounter a hostile fleet. They started out in a n00b corp just like you. They learned the basics and moved on, just like everyone else but you, considering you're still in a n00b corp. Unless of course you're an alt (read: gutless). They joined an alliance just like the other 50 thousand or so that have joined an alliance. And they too realized that the t2 BPO lottery sucks.

Edited by: Frug on 02/03/2007 21:08:51 I still think devs should play Jovians, as I thought when I initially started playing eve.
Nothing wrong with a good storyline invasion by aliens now and then.

Like when we got to kill tux on sisi, when he was in a nice jove BS. That was fun, not to mention a "little" laggy.

Not gonna happen again. Imho.
CCp have serious trust issues at the moment. ( and rightly so )
This is no doubt costing them RL money, be it via non renewal of subscriptions and / or bad recomendations. Any attempt to further manipulate the game would see even more of the above occcuring.
just my opinion
