One day my eve gmae was acting messy so i decided to reinstall it and when i finished my character suddenly turned bald. Also on almost every character i see they are bald. And some even have no clothes on. Then i went to my inventory and started to look around and then i notied that my drones and some other items had only a black box. A box filled with blackness. Nothing was there. Then when the new patch came out it didn't solve the issue. So i redownload the full client from eve and reinstalled the game. That also didn't help. I am running a Dell Dimension, 758 ram, 9100 radeon, windows xp.HELP it is getting very annoying.

I'm getting the same problem, on a Thinkpad A31p with ATI Mobility Fire GL 7800. Just updated the drivers. The game plays, but my character has gone bald. Some ships and items have no portrait. I tried to create a new character, and some of the textures are misaligned, and the character might look fine during the creation process but at the end comes out bald!

Very odd, i'm having the same problem, but only for characters on the log in screen. my char shows up find in the char sheet, and only a few modules show up black (i.e. harvesters). my problem happened just after a reinstall also.
i logged onto my friends account from my computer and even his characters showed up strange...must be a local thing...fortunate for me i'm due for a reformat anyway :)

i'm sure it is since i get the same deformed character no matter whose computer i log in at.

Same problem, carried through the last several patches. Cleaned the cache each time, but still bald, and sometimes naked characters.
Tried fiddling with the graphics card settings, and got some better textures, (though I don't know how, really) but it didn't fix this problem. Seems like a layering problem with the components of the portrait before it creates the images in your cache file, so it -might- be server side.
But if that's the case, why don't more people have this problem?!

I have the black portrait problem too, only for the third character (this one) on the character select screen.
Doesn't affect the rest of the game (and bugs) in the slightest, in my case.

I just came back on for the 10 day reactivation of my account, only to find that on the login screen one of my characters is bald, but the other looks fine. then when I get into the game with either character, both of them are bald, and this character is missing most of his clothes. I cleared the cache, and this was a fresh install of the game, so i can't fix it.
System specs: athlon xp2400+, 512mb pc2100, radeon 8500, Gamesurround Fortissimo 2

Some characters in game are bald with a big red splotch on their head for me, rather odd looking.

Same thing here.
Had to reinstall the game and now my characters are all bald with messed up eyes.
Also my ships and some items show as black box (no picture), and the planet textures are messed up too.
There are various other graphic glitches that were not there before.
CAN SOMEONE TELL US WHAT CAN WE DO TO FIX THIS ?????
HELLO , CCP , ANYONE HOME??

No hair,no sunglasses even no ship¦s harvesters etc....
It just get more messy when i reinstall the whole game .....

Upgraded from Radeon 9000 3nd party, to a Radeon 9600 SE from ATI - Got my hair back, and clothing on various avatars, and the planets look very nice now. All I can think is that with the last couple of builds, they haven't been testing the older Radeons with the current graphics.
I still have a problem with some of the thumbnails for shuttles and the like, showing up now as black squares.

I'm using a 9800pro /w catalyst 3.10 and I get the bald characters with red things on their heads so I doubt its limited to older radeons.

Iv exactly the same problem I reinstalled eve and most Portraits are bald I also have the problem with Item Pics missing. I have an Raedon8500 Cat3.10 and win2k sp4. PLZ CCP FIX THIS.

Baldness affects many people later in life. You've just got to learn to live with it.
