Well im at a cross roads im a huge mmo fan and a fan of eve but im currently playing another game (we all know what im talking about) for various reasons i think it would help you better understand if you knew the background.
I joined eve a while back it was fun and i decided to join eve university. About a month later MC decced TBB and it was on, i went from johnny noob nobody to fighting against t2 ships etc in my vexor/caracals. it was fun the fights lasted a while we lost and i was at a loss, i was so used to living in 0.0 i didn't know what to do.
Eve U then came under fire from many war decs and that kept me occupied for a bit but essentially i longed for more fair fights.
I decided to join a branch off corp with ISS hoping there would be good 0.0 pvp, not knowing ISS was at the time (dont know if they still are) a neutral entity i ended up leaving for queens of the stone age. I get to 0.0 and im talking deep 0.0 16 jumps from empire on either side but theres one problem, no bookmarks.
Now keep in mind this was before warp to 0 existed, i sat alone in deep 0.0 a member of an alliance that i really didnt have anything to do with, QoTSS was in a transitional period of sorts so it wasn't very active with alliance stuff.
Anyway so here i am at a station in 0.0 alone as most of my corp is upwards of 30 jumps in either direction unbeknown to me, With 0 Bookmarks, I ratted a bit tried to get BM's on escrow didnt work tried to get out chased back into the system by current war targets. No pvp in the system for some reason.
All the while im still a newbie to the game, to this day im still iffy on flying on my own and pvping (just thinking about it) because i never got a good sense of small gang fights etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your still reading good. So now the other game im playing (wow) which i left for eve in the first place is becoming stale and boring and consuming to much time. The only reason i went back is because of my bad experience with the political rabble and transitions i went through in short i dug myself a hole.
So i implore you, what am i to do. Im very interested in playing eve again as there have been nice changes but i dont know if i want to. I don't know where to start when i get back.
I have roughly i think about 9 mill SP and a butload of money sitting there with a plethora of ships on him ( when i left i was training frigate 5 (galente))
But where do you suggest starting? im a big fan of pvp but im not sure if i should do it on my own. I want to get a foothold in something that will make the game fun for a while to come not just a few cheap kills then weeks of stale gameplay waiting for stuff to happen.
What do you think?

Edited by: Talasin on 02/03/2007 14:06:25 By the way i mainly fly gallente cruisers but i can fly all the way up to intys and battle ships.
So im not that big of a bump on a log.
And 9 mill SP was an estimate it may be more or less although it think its very near there.

sounds like you need a better corp tbh, try going here and see if you can find something that suits your play style and interests.
If you want to learn to pvp i suggest finding a pvp corp that has low requirements and some decent pvpers in it.

I agree with Ryas. Start casting your net around for corps that you're interested in and would be interested in you. I'm sure plenty would, especially as you went into pvp so early and had some eve-u training :)
And then of course make contacts, deals, and only get into the politics as much as you want or need to. And warp-to-zero is worth coming back for on it's own!

Firstly dont worry about bookmarks, a frigate with inertia stabs / nanos with warp to 0km (new feature added, some love some hate, regardless of it we basicly have instas to everything now) you can't die unless to bubbles / dictors.
Get yourself into a corp, thats my advice, theres a few major wars on now, you could easilly slip into one of them, pick a side... win or loose you'll learn a lot and make some friends.
Just look where you are on the map, look on alliance map for who owns the area and talk to a recruiter of one of the corps in the area, simple as that.
Carpe Diem. ______

Talk to a lot corps befor you decide where to go. Ask them for their killboard. It will tell you if and even more important when they pvp. If the corp (not the alliance) dont kill at least 5 ppl every day dont join them. If they kill ppl at a time where you are sleeping (or should to) dont join them.
If they dont ask you any questions about your play style, what you want to do in their corp, etc. dont join them.

There are countless games in the world. There are at least as many ppl that dont like one or more rules of sayed games. That never stopped smart game designers from making good games.

Hi Talasin,
TBB was fun, glad you were there fighting. I parted ways with the alliance before MC attacked however (If I had known, I would have stayed for that fight). I am glad to see you are still playing the game as I have massive respect for all the Eve University students who decided to take their game to the next level and fight for what that alliance built.
You are asking for opinions on what to do with your EVE future eh. Well from what you wrote you have a good place to continue from, as said above however you do seem to need a new corp. If you are serious about getting PVP experience and again taking your game to the next level I may be able to give you some references to some small pvp outfits I know. It takes a lot for a new eve player to join into a conflict where they risk to loose everything in an alliance war, and all your fellow students from the uni who joined in all proved that they are willing to try new things and be devoted to their corps.
Anyway, keep at eve, it is worth it, best game ever made. Send me an eve mail if you decide to continue.
