What is the tank like on a Chimera, does it match the thantos?

excluding cap/cpu problems. I've heard it out does the Archon for maximum DPS tanked, but just can't hold the tank as long.
thantos has a pansy tank for a cap ship :P

same as any capitiol ship. Thier main weakness is a fleet of NOS ships. so cap/cap/cap.

i suggest u to gow ith the thanatos, because the shieldtanking setups arent sustainable - whichc an be ur quick death when its very laggy in large fights.
also with other carriers being usually armor tankers and having capital remote armor reps a shieldtank is less good these days.
it also depends on how u want to use it ofc,
small corp warfare, fleet/alliance etc.

Just whilst the topic of the chimera tank is being discussed, is the following a worthwhile tank:
Cap Shield booster
t2 Invuln hardner
t2 EM hardner
t2 Kinetic hardner
t2 Thermal Hardner
either:
2x Cap rechargers
or
1x Cap recharger
1x t2 shield amp
i assume you could put 3 CCC rigs on and maybe do 2x t2 shield amp ?
and i know best named is better than t2, but im asking anyway :p

when i said named was better than named, i meant generally and wasnt specifically referring to the boost amps, more the shield hardners in honesty.

Errr... T2 shield hardners are better than named 
T1/named invuln = 25%
T2 Invuln = 30%
T1/named Damage specific = 50%
T2 Damage Specific = 55%
Higher fitting but its worth it.

fair enough then, i havent got access to look at the stats from here so i just guessed from memory.

wow i love it when fitting threads have no basis in reality
your shield tank won't fit, can't fit, and even if it could fit it sucks

but don`t forget that chimera has 5% shield resist per level...so at carrier lvl 5 u can make a very hard tank....
i say tank cimera better than thanatos....but thanatos has more dps...
and btw i think u forgot about shield transfer mods...armor its not the only one...
