Hello,
with the last patch, some/all users with Windows 2000 System (Service Pack 4) have no chat window anymore. No local, no alliance chat,
How can i fix this? Someone told me, that a line with enablevoice=0 in the prefs.ini could fix that. But i doesnt work.
Another idea?
Thanks Marvel

Hi sorry cant help you with the problem you have, but i use win2000 service pack 4 and have no problems with chat windows. so its just some people, have you spoken to others with the same problem?
I dont have that line in my prefs ini either.
Have you been able to compare your prefs ini with someone else who does not have a problem with win2000?

...not every problem is related to win2k i use w2k aswell and many others ;)
try clearing your cache, or worst case scenary, kill your settings (glad you deleted the thousands of g2g bookmarks, right? ;) ) sometimes for me it takes about half a min to show the chat, got patience?

voiceenabled=0 is the command you want. Some of us 2k uses have a problem some of us don't.

I had this in XP occasionally- I fixed it by opening up the F10 map, and it suddenly appears when the map opens. Only now and again does it do this though. --

It seems to be a problem with the settings.
I reinstalled windows 2000 + service pack + drivers + EVE Client from eve-online.com
I login and the local appears.
I copy then the settings back to the eve folder.
I relog. Local has gone.
Now i put in the line novoice. (look above) and the local appear again.
Thanks. :-)

I love win2k....it IS the best OS MS every made by far.
I finally moved away from it on my new core 2 duo machine, and it makes me sad everytime i boot the machine. While in XP, I have it set to look like 2k...so i often forget...for awhile.
