Summary:
it was ****E. Staring at a blank screen for 5 minutes is EVE now, apparently. No clear winners. Possibly because of the immense, router-bursting lag that struck the system. Yes, whilst 350 pilots in local is guaranteed to create lag, the only viable counter for a hostile gatecamp is a bigger offensive force. And the servers can't even take it.
Please fix this so we can log back in.

I only saw like 6 ships on the overview and spent 5 minutes trying to lock them. 
30 seconds after everyone jumped in we got a message about the server going down. Someone feed the hamsters.

The only thing that saved many of us was the fact that prob 50% of either side could not activate modules. I know when the server went down, we still had people that didn't load.

from ts, we have 4 confirmed kills and 1 confirmed death. thats over 6 minutes of fighting......... with about 1 hundred a side.
i know my crow ended up mwd-ing away from the field. and i couldn't turn around, modules caught up as i was hitting 1300km off the gate

I thought i was done when i e-warped to a planet, then a few BoB/MC/FIX/whoever interceptors show up and lock me down. thankfully, they ended up warping off from that point, saving my ass!
As to lag, it took me 3 minutes to lock on to the damn bubble. then i ended up e-warping off before i could even lock the primary.

How about when eve comes back online instead of everyone fighting lets all do a huge mining op together and fraps it to some elevator music.
Then post the video on the forums and the rest of eve can be confused for a day or so.

That was nuts..we were on the gate, they jumped in and our FC said "first one that decloaks is primary"...but for the majority of our fleet, nobody decloaked. I had 3 targets on overview out of 120+ hostiles, and it took me 2 minutes to lock a command ship lmao.

Regardign the fighter spam, I sometimes wonder what the CCP thought process is sometimes.
CCP Exec #1: OMG, the servers cannot cope with the amount of drones people are using.
CCP Exec #2: Lets balance them so they can only deploy 5 at a time to prevent server issues.
<TIME PASSES>
CCP Exec #1: Hey, we need some new capitol ships for people to use, any suggestions?
CCP Exec #3: Lets make carriers and motherships that can deploy dozens of drones at once
CCP Exec #1: Excellent idea, lets get right on that.
