The server went down with a DB error (it happens now and then in every MMO) and we get info about the problem at once, and it is fixed quickly, as an old SOE customer this was impressive.
I just got back today after a long break, but is this the reponse time with info and fix everytime? If so it's damn good!
I don't like the forum very much though, search is crap... btw,how can I find all my own posts? or posts by certain players?

Edited by: PKlavins on 04/03/2007 21:02:01 the integrated search isnt that good. use www.eve-search.com, should do the trick
as for rapid info + fixing...yea, today its fast. usually when this happens its a bit slower tho...not much tho. by my experience you dont go more than half an hour after a TQ crash without a word from the devs.

Yeah a big thanx to Sharkbait etc for giving us the information as quick and updated as it has been. Nice to be able to follo it and not get lost in all the "WTFTQDWN" threads on the forum.

I've always been rather impressed with CCP's response times to problems when compared to other software game companies.
In light of recent events, I also believe we're entering a period of heightened responses and communication with the community in order to increase the sense of trust.
I made the above post with the full understanding that I would probably be flamed for my opinions |

I was just thinking the same.
With SOE, the server would be down all day before something was done about it. I'm really impressed and glad my $15 a month is going to hard workers.

Edited by: Arimus Darkhart on 04/03/2007 21:25:53 Now all we need is the cluster to start accepting connections (fingers crossed it does in the next 30 mins as I'm due to complete a skill in 35).
Hm, as I typed that I got that wish ;)

I was on Starsider, but SWG suck noe, and I hate SoE and Sony in general.. I'm not going back to them. I want a sandbox MMO and Eve:Online is the last sandbox... There is only one MMO for me until Bioware (my favorite game devs) release their MMO. It might even be star wars as the Bioware MMO would neither deby nor confirm it was a SW MMO :)

The server has been down for over 2 hours on the most played day of the week and they haven't even gave us a time when it should be back up, hmmm

Haste makes waste. I'd rather they get it right rather then have numerous reboots.
Opinions reflected on my posts are just that, my opinions. They do not reflect views held by my corp. |

after it comes up in about 10 to 15mins the server will die again and need a reboot. Happens every time.

Correction, still not in so looks like I'll lose about 20 hours of training time (not going to be able to get on until tomorrow night).

Edited by: Crydawner on 04/03/2007 21:51:38 As a veteran guild wars player, I find the concept of 'downtime' bloody confusing. Like 2 days total downtime in 2 years or something. But a fast response is always a good thing when it does happen gg.
