Has anyone out there got the compleate collection of Fraction frigs? I so far have the Navy Hookbill and the Navy Slicer. Im looking to collect them all =)
If you do own a collection of Fraction frigs i would be intrested to know how much it cost you all in all. Also, is the silver and gold magnite realy worth 15 Billion isk?? if so why? i dont understand why its sooo expensive. |

The magnate frigates are unique ships, their worth is simply what youll pay to have the only one in your collection. AFAIK gold one is dead. Dont know how many silvers are out there.

Why would anyone want only a part of a frigate? I don't think they're useful unless you have the whole thing.

Ship-stats wise, they're not even worth 5 mil ISK (if that much).
The Slicer is the best damage dealer, the Hookbill is the best tanker, at least IMO.
Still, a Retribution out-damages the Slicer, and a Hawk out-tanks a Hookbill.
As for the magnates... the fact there's only a handfull of them in the game (I'm not even sure there's more than one single Gold Magnate in existance) makes them collector's items, so they go for as much as you're willing to pay for them, IF the owner is even interested in selling any of them.
P.S. It's "faction" (as in "group") not "fraction" (as in "7/13").

There was a silver magnate on contracts in Sinq today with one bid and an hour left. was at 5bil when I last saw it.

I've had the basic faction frigate collection complete, twice. That's the following 9 ships, all available from agent offers:
Caldari Navy Hookbill
Republic Fleet Firetail
Gallente Navy Comet
Amarr Navy Slicer
Daredevil
Dramiel
Cruor
Succubus
Worm.
But I've sold them all off and these days only have the ocasional resale ship I pick up cheap. As for the rarer stuff, some are GM ships, Silver magnates are very rare and don't drop from any offers, so its an ever dwindling number of them in game. The gold magnate was unique and got killed, so it is more than valuable, its non existant.
Rule of thumb for all these ships is the rarer they are, the more they cost, with their actual specification taking a second seat in ship value.
If you want to fight with the ship, then do go for t2, which will kill most of these ships quite easily due to much superior specifications. And they will be easily replaceable, which is allways good when you're flying the small ships. I have all t2 caldari frigates, and they kick faction butt.

Yeah saw a sell order a week or so ago of someone selling a frigate collection. All frigs T1, T2, and faction. Think it had everything except the Magnates and the polaris.

Beware those Fraction frigates! Fast, deadly, most will easily take down any faction frigate! Fraction frigates are commanded by some of the sexiest pilots in the Cluster! 
On a more serious note: As everyone is essentially flying the same ships, anything that lends a vessel individuality has value. Most faction ships aren't that superior to their appropriate counterparts. Their desirability comes from the fact that you can fly one and not see 10 other identical ships in local.

i know someone picked up a silver magnate today fr 5bil i think, though he says he got it cheap. I'd say prolly about 15bil if you can find a buyer. Gold one is dead. As for the rest, i'm sure i could name a few people with full collections, they arn't expensive.

The worst part about most of them is their split weapons layout. What good is an extra 25% turret damage bonus when you can only fit 2 turrets and 2 launchers? They'd be so much more useful if their bonuses actually reflected what they can fit.
Anyone remember?

There is no gold magnate. There was only one and it went boom already.

I've taken out a t2 fitted taranis and a vengence with a worm on my alt's account.
It does very well in solo pvp.

ive always meant to expand my faction ship collection
but honestly it's just no a priority
but i have owned a cruor and ashimu
and i have a 1 run vindicator bpc i haven't built yet
ide really like a feature where you could build a ship museum and people could visit and view your collection of ships would be kinda fun
