So last night, I got a bit bored of running L1's in a salvage-setup hurricane.. and loaded it up with smartbombs..
anyways, I ended up getting 3 ship kills and 3 pod kills in high sec; 2 reapers and a burst.
now, when I looked at the pilot's info for the burst, he is 2 days old, flying in a burst; so he can't have that much isk, right?
should i give him 100k or so, or not?

write him a mail and try to find out if he is an alt or really a newbie.
if he's a newbie, better give him the money, would be sad if he quits eve because of an incident like this.

cool cool.. i'll do that when server comes up.
and for the boredom: yea.. you try doing L1's in a hurricane (with t2 drones).. and see how fast it is for you to get bored out of your mind, lol
besides.. whats 40 million isk /shrug

try doing lvl 4's in a curse that tanks full spawns 24-7..
thats even worse as you get tired of the sounds of their blasters.. i hate serpentis :)
ooh and.. if 40 mills nothing just give the man a mill :)

i know id be kinda shocked and very tempted to leave if i got my ship popped in the first few days of gameplay.
shocked to the level of "i either find a way to get back what i lost TODAY or.. go back to -the game i wont mention-"
being 2 days old he most likely be flying the lowest frig available. i know i was flying a bantam first few days :p

Right, you wouldn't feel bad now, but on your first day trying out a new game, the moment you undock you get podded it be like ? why play this? and he may have thought concord was a player ganking him back. :o
You do lvl 4's in a curse? o.O Never thought to do missions in a curse, can you keep up cap with the nos? kinda thought in pve they were semi-useless.

yeah i do them in a curse.
use the rigs to get either your cap rechargerate up or go for the tank so you can put w/e cap helping stuff you want in the low slots.
and i have LOTS of power in my drones so i rely on them and use noss to keep my cap going.
double repped offcourse.
its doable

Sometimes I feel a little bad when I pod a guy a few hours old (several times), then I get over it.

ok firstly if they leave because of that then they really aren't cut out for eve tbh. better they leave now than after they have paid money for it.
secondly. someone leaving the game because he is having a laugh is not his problem, it's ccp's you pay for the game, enjoy it how u want to and don't feel bad. might sound selfish but meh. now i have given ppl isk before if they are a noob because i wanted to help them replace their loss depending on how they react to dying but i've never felt bad for killing someone

And I don't feel you should have sent money. Perhaps just an explanation letting him know that it's uncommon for that to happen and that you weren't targeting him, so he doesn't feel like the game sucks.

I don't think you have issues. I mean, think about it. Farmers allow their cattle to grow before they kill them.
If they don't it's called veal, and a lot of people are against that, moreso than against steak.

a m8 and I once ganged with this guy in lowsec (st the very start of pirating) to run a plex...when we got to the plex we waited for the rats to aggro him and then we turned on him and popped him
no actually I felt kinda bad only cause I'm not a mean person in RL, but I did not give him money or anything. I just chatted him up in local for a bit....now he was a bit put off but after some chat he could see I wasn't a twit, I was just playing the game...man I wish I could remember his name. Although now I don't think twice before getting one up on someone strange how that worked out....ok yea I guess I would help a noob out if he was really a noob
