What exactly does this mean?
I have "access to" a level II agent who works for one of the Minmatar reasearch companies - however when I tried to start some research, I was told "your skills don't match mine". What skills do I need, is each agent different, and how does one know what skills are required?
Cheers... Centauri,

You need to look at his info, it will show what sort of things he can research...eg Minmatar Starship.....laser physics ...etc
You need to get these advanced skills before you can work with him on a project.....so far as I know, you only need 1 skill that he has to start things rolling. ============================================== "Trust no man who says to you that 'The ends justify the means' or who says that 'We will do whatever it takes...'. ah... I see.
But where does one get these skills?
I've seen only the odd skill in the market, and they're at 15,000,000! Where did these people get them? Captain Zelnick,

You can get the research skills from doing agent missions for the R&D corps. I got a Graviton Physics skill last night from a level 2 (non r&d) agent with Lai Dai. I now have a research project going with a level 2 Lai Dai r&d agent :) . A little bit later i also picked up Mechanical Engineering skill. The skills are out there to be had. Market prices range from 4mil to 20mil which i think is ridiculous given the number of skills that peopel i know have got already and how many were being offered in the trade channel. Unless the latest toning down of agent rewards affects the skill drop frequency i would expect prices to drop pretty quickly. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

A few of those who managed to do missions early on without being locked out by bugs were given stupidly good rewards. Like 13 copies of the same advanced skill (which they sold for around 15-20m). There are some posts saying as much in this forum.
Yes, I am annoyed.
Yes, I believe much of my hard work in preparing for the new missions/agents has been wasted.
Yes, I think I am turning into the Whinemaster.
The whole situation is about as balanced as implants when they first came out. The long term problem is that there will be no way of sorting out the mess IMO.
Sod it, off to work.

well i got a skill from republic security admin department agent, i think as long as you have +3 standing with the corp you are working with (ie. have not lost some due to agent bugs) then skills will drop from any lvl3 agent.

Just a thought, but if you are going to work with a research agent I'd suggest working for a corp with an R&D department while looking for the skills. After all, the higher your standings, the better research agent you can use...

Whats with that Astronautic skill. Its supposed to work with all agents, but is shown by none. Anyone seen it as an agent skill? Or got it droped from an agent?

Isn't Astronautics the one that was listed as "all corps (eventually)"? In which case, it just isn't available *yet*.
