It doesn't seem to do ANYTHING. Before it would 5% per level to the AB/MWD speed. So if the AB base was 25%, AC lvl 1 would give 30%, and if one did 'show info' on an AB equiped to your ship it would display the skill adjusted number.
Post patch, the number is always 35% (the base speed bonus for an AB). Given that ab's now are based of ship mass and all that, the only test I could do is to have me and corp buddy pick the same ship, each with the same 10 meganewton AB, only diff being he had AC lvl 3, while I had AC lvl 4.
We both hit the AB, and lo and behold, our top speed is exactly the SAME.
Soo.. What gives CCP?

Edited by: LittleFerret on 18/12/2003 08:34:27 Follow up, with some numbers.
Ship: Imicus Frigate Skills: Nav 5, Accel Ctrl 5 Base Speed: 324 m/s AB: 1 MegaNewton AB, 35% base speed boost
Non AB Speed = 324 m/s With AB Speed = 404 m/s
Speed Ratio = 1.25 !!! (even LESS then the base AB bonus) Thus, Accel Control gives a bonus to squat.

Actually that is only a 25% increase. Still sucks tho'

That explains why my ships are still so damn slow even with the new 100MN ABs in them.
So much for the time spent training my Acc Control up to Lvl 4!

I know the feeling.
I just hope it get sorted, real quick.
It might also stop a lot of the whining about increased tracel times. But then again, probably not.

the effect of AB and MWD are tied to the ships weight, the imicus is a fairly heavy ship and thus sees less effect than most (amarr are about the heaviest though) . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Agreed, but Acc. Cont. gives extra boost to AB's.
Therefore, why is it two people flyiny the same ship with the same ab's but different Acc. Cont. fly at the same speed.
Makes Acc.Cont. defunct as it is not giving any bonus what so ever.
Have not checked the mwd's yet, so can't comment on them.

Anyone else believe this is true? Or is it just me that Accl Ctrl doesn't work?

*nods* Happens to me too. Uneq'd cruiser afterburner shows 40% speed boost. Equipped (where the stats have previously updated with skill bonus's) is still 40%.
