Hey guys,
thats the first time, I fitted my ship myself. Usually, I just google for a fitting and take the fist one I find. Anyway, I thought about what I definitely need and what would be neat to have, but it doesn't feel like it's working great. I do take some serious damage and do not do that much damage myself in lvl3 missions. It's quite a pain, a lot of warping out and in again, so, whats wrong with my fitting? (Running amarr missions, the hardener-types should be correct if I can trust eve-survival.org's mission informations)
[Harbinger] Medium Armor Repairer I Armor Kinetic Hardener I Armor Kinetic Hardener I Armor Thermal Hardener I Armor Thermal Hardener I Extruded Compact Heat Sink
Cap Recharger I Cap Recharger I 50MN Microwarpdrive I Tracking Computer I
Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I Focused Anode Medium Particle Stream I
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Semiconductor Memory Cell I
Valkyrie I x5 Warrior I x5
Tracking Speed Script x1 Standard M x6 Radio M x6
I tried it with only one of each hardener, a damage control II and another Heat Sink in the lowslots, that was even worse I think. |

Lows: 3 slot tank, 3 heatsinks
Mids: mjd, sebo, 2 tc's
Highs: biggest beams you can fit.
Or...
Lows: 4 slot tank, 2 heatsinks
Mids: ab, cap battery, 2 tc's
Highs: pulse lazors
Rigs for fitting if needed, else cap or mobility.
Both these fits are playing on the safe side, once you get used to them, strip out for more gank.
Sorry about the format, on phone.
Edit: train for t2 tank asap, then t2 everything else. Don't think about stepping up to battleships until you can fit t2 everything. |

thats crazy over tanked for a l3 boat. i suspect the issue is with your skills rather than the fit, the various Armor Compensation Hull Upgrades Armor Layering Repair Systems probably need a little work
Better the Devil you know.

I will, thanks.

Probably, yes. I have Hull Upgrades on 4 for Damage Control II. I don't habe Armor Layering yet, does it even do that much? Repair Systems is at level 3, I guess I could train it to 4 asap, my queue is filled up with random gunnery skills at the moment.

1) Hardeners are *probably* wrong. BR/Sansha rats are EM/therm, not kin/therm.
2) MWD may not be the right choice. I tend to prefer an AB for missions to help with cap and fitting. |

When fitting ships I tend to work off the following rough guide
Damage Application Damage Speed Tank Capacitor
Stuff at the top being more important than stuff below it.
When your doing new stuff however, whether that's a ship or mission difficulty Moving Tank & Capacitor up the list is fine, as you get to know the ship & how the new missions play out you can downscale them again quite easily.
For missioning an Afterburner is preferable, MWD's bloat your signature to moon size and with a moon sized sig you're very easy to hit, despite the speed gain. |

Sebo = sensor booster. Useful with mjd. Tc = tracking computer |

I have a cap stable, dual armor rep Harbinger with almost 400 dps with Mulitfrequency M that I run L3 missions with.
Yes, it is way over tanked but it gets the job done, son. It doesn't hurt that I have perfect armor and medium gun skills.
As for the fit, i would agree with the others. I am just odd and like the tank over gank...mainly for those who visit and try to poke the Harbinger into a fight.
This would cure me of the fear...

Also if possible try and stay away from the Meta0 (T1 or whatever they are called now) .
Things like "Cap Recharger I" can be replaced by "Eurectic Compact Cap Recharger"
Maybe try something like this . Most of he mods should be very each (look for cheaper if required but not Meta 0)
Triple check that you are tanking hte right damage types,
Drop the DC2 for a second heat sink if you are tanking OK and try to keep on moving to drop the incoming damage.

Try both and see what you like better. Both require you to fly your ship in a different way and stay with the afterburner, you will do so much better.
Eve Minions is recruiting. Learn from about pvp, learn about ships and how to fly them correctly. Small gang and solo action in high, low and nullsec and w-space alike.
We will teach you everything you need and want to know.

sebo with ECCM script can also be useful against Gurista jamming. Decreases success rates hopefully by raising sensor strength.. Boost will be based on the sensor strength of the ship its working with. |

I would never use pulse lasers unless I could use tech 2 ammunition. Stick with beams as rats are very often quite far off, make sure you have a set of light drones to deal with small stuff too close to track |
