Hi everyone i am actualy flying a Nidhoggur to rat ( between 55/60m tic) but i don't know if my fitt is good. It's realy overtanked for ratting but if i got hot droped i don"t know if i can resist, waiting for my corp mates to help me, ia am currently flying wih an active tank fit ( blood space ):

First ill start with your carrier:
- Your local tank isnt strong enough to ward off even a medium gang (20-30) of interceptors for long. You lack the cap regen to be able to tank anything major with a shield booster. To a gang with decent dps you will die in only a couple min if that . you would literally need a fax on standby and ready to to be dropped.
- To tank a gang until help arrives, an omni buffer tank is going to be the way to go. It will buy you a little more time.
- Even if you do get help, unless its overwhelming help, your carrier still has a high chance of being popped once its been caught.
This is probably the best carrier ratting advice you will ever get in this game. So now the best tank you can fit is (drumroll)... the common sense tank!
- First dont post with your main asking for help. I literally in 20 seconds concluded you are going to be carrier ratting in 1 of 5 systems in (redacted). Out of those 5 systems only 3 of those would be considered ok for carrier ratting. Out of those 3 systems, 1 is the most ideal for carrier ratting. If your intel channel is being slow today and people arent really paying attention. A fast gang could blitz that pocket and just murder ratters. All you did was draw attention to the pocket and how heavily it is used.
-Align, Align, ALIGN! You should be aligned to a POS, Second choice is a citadel, but a POS is preferred. Dont use a safe bookmark unless you can cloak, we will just scan you down.
- Watch intel like a hawk. Any threat is a threat. Dont assume because something is small and alone its not deadly. We can blaps you in mere seconds and you wont know it until its to late.
- Dont carrier rat within d scan of the gate. I know people do, but its just dumb. If your intel doesnt catch us. the first thing we do when we jump in a system to hunt is d scan. We see a carrier on d scan we are immediately warping to every sanctum and haven in scan range.
- Have a cyno alt ready to light in another system( at a pos or citadel). I know someone that use to carrier rat in an area that was frequented by gangs. Our intel channel wasnt that good. So sometimes we would have a roam pop into system and catch us by surprise. He would just cyno out and then back in after they left. Dont have a cyno alt? get one or dont use a carrier to pve.
- Lastly, dont expect your corpmates to die to save you from your own stupidity. Thats selfish and greedy for you to ask them to sacrifice their ships so you can make an extra 20 mil isk a tick being stupid. So the best thing you can do is not be stupid and greedy( no you dont have time to kill the last two battleships because that gang just jumped in next door) when ratting in a carrier.
There you go, the best tanking advice you will get from someone that hunts for people like you. Your welcome i just made my job harder. |

Best tank is massed dps and application so you can blap the ceptor that tries to tackle you before the gang lands. |
