As suggested in the past by many many people i think smartbombs should have a boost.. as at the moment they are pretty poor and almost worthless.
Improvments to be made:
Skills to increase the damage done by smartbombs per lvl
Skills to increase the radius of an explosion per lvl
The ability to used timed (30 seconds max) or remote activation smart bombs.. such as dropping.. moving away then activating the smart bomb manualy though there will be a 1 smartbomb limit per module.
The ability to reverse the effects of NOS by damaging the user double the amount the smart bomb is capable of doing.
Grenade launcher-style smartbombs where by you lock and shoot at a target causing radial damage in the area of the explosion.. i believe this is how Eve will deal with blobs.
Please comment on my ideas and any further ideas people would like to suggest.

Mostly I want to see smartbombs with radiating spheres of damage. Basically, smartbombs with falloff.
Also, the smartbomb mechanic could be worked into more modules. For example, NOS. A heavy NOS could still work from 22km, BUT, instead of returning energy over 22km, it could create an "energy smartbomb" effect which would transmit energy to all ships in range.. with falloff. Coupling MWD with NOS outside of web range would fail.
Thus, NOS becomes a highly tactical support weapon. Not only would it nerf high orbit NOS craft, but it could prove indispensable for both tackler and escort craft assistance. NOS could be turned on a foe to help small craft maintain capacitor, it could also be turned on a friendly freighter to provide an advantage to help nearby ships protecting it. Unclaimed energy might be preserved more efficiently by the target if there are no nearby ships.
It would have all manner of net beneficial effects for both point-blank nos users (blasters users), but also good for standoff platforms (lasers users).

If you want smartbombs to be useful then make them smart.
Some combination of ship and/or character skills that means that the smartbomb only hits hostile targets.
Set it to hit neutral, hostile only, aggressed only, or everyone - then open fire.

Smartbomb are smart allready. There are only STUPID users.
All i woud want is littlebit faster cycle. They work just fine.
