Hello there!
I am liking the idea of events. It is surely lacking but shows that you're on a good path. Thank you for that. But... It is still missing the huge point of being newbie friendly.
Mining missions don't really require that much knowledge. If a newbie has done the related oppurtunity, he should be able to understand this one easily. But other stuff is blurry.
Imagine you are new to EvE and continue, First off, how do I find these ships and sites it's talking about? You would ask yourself. What do I have to fly to be able to run them?
Why don't you include more information about your game, in-game? I bet Scope Network has intel on this enemy. Why don't they share it with the public. This could be the second page of the event window. There could be indicators to the relative mission difficulty and recommended ships and recommended fleet size maybe. Third page could be a little helper for the new players, giving directions on how to tackle sites and find them.
I am pretty sure you have very experienced people working for this game but maybe you should also recruit a few newbs and ask their opinions on things. You keep adding to your unfriendliness to new players.
These are just my opinions of course. Thanks for reading! :) |

Well, you are right when you say: Quote:]more fun when its not spelled out for us I agree.
When you go to war, you require intel though. No army fights blindly. You can make the intel vague so it's rather an indication than a full-on information. It would make it more new-player friendly in my opinion. More immersive too.
Quote:Why don't you ask players? They can physically show you how to find them and what to fly. They could also easily encourage this, in-game.
They did release a video series about PI. I think that was good and on point. Many could get frustrated by it. And there were still a lot more to learn.
Make the basics understandable and leave room for learning the depth. |

Basics: Serpentis dudes are bad. Go kill them. They are found at beacons when you enter a system. Put beacons on your overview, R-click, warp, kill them.
Depth: all the other stuff.

Be careful, they shoot back offering low to moderate resistance. |
