Were you aware of that?

The official answer while discussing was
"The mechanics surrounding cynosural fields recently changed, and ships that are generating them can now be locked, and can lock others and use both offensive and defensive modules. "

well the description no longer states that you are restricted from activating other modules, so i assume this to be correct.

You can also no longer dock sieged dreadnoughts or ships with active cynosural fields. -Wrayeth "Look, pa! I just contributed absolutely nothing to this thread!"

Yep. Its been like this a while now.
While generating you cant move, but can be locked, fired upon and return fire. You are not able to dock and ofc are unable to warp.
Best to jump to a POS if there are hostiles in the area. -----

the real question is can u cloak in a recon ship with a cyno fitted?
ive been out of game for a while but it always seemed stupid that you couldnt . ,. ..seen as thats what there designed for

I don't get this though. What's the point of cloaking at cyno if you can't move anyways? Anyone can just fly to the cyno, release the drones on orbit and you will be decloaked and killed (there goes the 80mill cloak)

I've never done this, so a quick question.
If you MWD, then activate a cyno, will Inertia take you past the field? Therefore if you are fast enough, you can cloak about 6000 meters away? Or does making a cyno field stop you immediately?
If there is inertia, then it would be a little help of avoiding bein de-cloaked.

You can fit both a cloak and a cyno on a ship....but can not activate then both at the same time.

You can FIT a cloak and a cyno generator now.
However as SOON as you activate the field your ship stops. No inertia, no moving away from the field.
And you CANNOT activate any hi-slots (IIRC)
You can activate mids and lows.
But as before, it's a flawed system. No one will risk a recon ship in enemy space, cause theres no way you can tank against a gang, so you lose your 180m ship. |

Patch notes on these "feature" changes are even made available before the patch is deployed.
Read the patch notes more often :)

Maybe they expect the recon/cyno maker to have support.

Excuse me, but when you open a cyno field in enemy space do you do it just for fun or to jump a large fleet of capital ships in? Capital ships that could easily keep the recon ship alive for the 5 minutes? (armor/shield reps on carriers anyone?)

Just curious if you were to use a throw away ship. At least if you are ejected and in your pod, you lower your risk of getting Podded.
Just also curious, if you eject from your ship, and then re-enter it, are you still stuck? or can you move?

This wasn't exactly an upgrade it was a bug fix in reality, to fix a long time bug of cloaks and cyno's sharing the same base code hence the issue until the fix of never been able to mount both a cloak and cyno because they shared the code that cloaks used for its base thus triggering the dual cloak prevention.
The been un-targetable was also a unintended feature (another side effect of the cloaking code) so basicly the migration over to the new base code for cyno's just resolved these long term issues.
