We are part of an alliance (AMC) that has 125+ members and we are currently working on increasing the size of our corp and alliance so we can eventually move to 0.0 or at the least increase our options.
So what's different?
Most corps have multiple divisions and require you to do x amount of mining per week or travel 40 jumps to sit at a gate for hours but for us the only requirement is no pirating. We are an anti pirate organization currently working in high sec and low sec in minmatar space. Other than not pirating you are free to do what interests you. We don't take ourselves too seriously and like to have fun.
Why is your corp called Blaine Institute for Advanced Research?
I wanted to call it Blaine Institute for the Mentally Insane but my corp skills are not high enough to handle 5000 corp members.
So what kind of stuff can I do?
In addition to the stuff you can do on your own (mining, rating, mission running etc) you will have the opportunity to talk to all of us knotheads in alliance chat. If that is not enough of an incentive then you can also join us on pvp ops, mining ops, running complexes, help run player owned stations, participating in pvp tournaments and even buy tickets in our lottery :)
Are there any requirements?
We are looking for mature players who are interested in joining an alliance and helping out when you can (But no pressure and only if your in the mood). As a member of The Older Gamers [TOG] outside of EVE and being an older fart myself I am mostly following the TOG rules of age 25 or older. I do realize that some people are born old farts so it is more an attitude that age. There are no time demands for how many hours a week you need to play. It is understood that you have a life outside of EVE - at least most of us do 
As for time zones I am in the PST time zone (GMT -8) and it would be nice to have others close to the same time zone but we have players in the alliance from many time zones so there will usually be someone on.
Where are you located?
We mostly operate out of the Molden Heath region in Minmatar space. You will have more options on things to do if you move down with us and it is highly recommended but it is not required.
