Edited by: Ja''kar on 08/03/2007 16:51:26 Dam I am post hungry today
Look warp 0 is here to stay (lets not get into that argument again)
But please lets make it at least fair, ships after jumping in should not be allowed to move, untill they have declocked, should be simple enough to fix...

So, you are saying that all ships should gain the benefits of a covops cloak after jumping into a system?

sorry not sure what you mean - I meant that wehn u jump from a gate you are clocked and when you jump out or move you declock - but the ships start to aling while clocked and this gives an advantage, that should not (I think) be allowed. so while they are cloacked (and its on a timer unlike fitted cloaks) they should be completly still. Until the player tells the ship to move or warp out then they shoud declock and then move.
OK as I wrote this you changed your post and still got it wrong - look of the ship is moved on auto for example then the ship would not move untill it has declocked, so you would not need to wait for the timer. you would just uncloak as per normal just that you would need to align after you declocked - ok m8 it that clear now

Eh? The act of moving uncloaks you.

So you're asking for something that's already in the game?

As soon as you double-click to align you de-cloak... At least in the game I'm playing

That's pretty much the way it works now... you tell your ship to move, and it decloaks. Sure, it takes a second or so for the decloaking to complete, but that's not some huge advantage. Chances are if the ship escapes, it would escape regardless of a second of decloak animation. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:

Never said it was a huge issue just one that should be fixed

What he means is that you you have a ship that aligns after he jumps, thats a second in which he cannot be targeted because the game still thinks he is cloaked.
Its never been an issue before, but I guess he has instalockers and cannot lock ships that align and warp in a second --

You're talking about the graphical effect only (on your client)...
As soon as you double-click, the other person can see you on the overview, and of course target...

Well if you have 2 accounts, try it... Or get a buddy on TS to try it with you...
I'm pretty sure you were fooled by the de-cloak effect...

Small fast ships get to move quickly off the gate that is their advantage. Larger, potentially more lethal ships take a much longer time to align to warp. Hell I can make a sandwich by the time it takes my cruiser to align.

Try gate camping for once. The ship decloaks even while aligning, watch the OVERVIEW!! You'll see them there even before the ship appears on the screen. The gate cloak is a 30sec response time on deciding what to do when jumping into a gate camp. It is different than a ship cloak which is why you need to decloak before you can recloak again.
If you really wanna stop people train to fly a interdictor and drop bubbles on 0.0 gates. You'll stop all ships from warping while they are inside the bubble.

While cloaked after jumping into a system, ships cannot move while cloaked. As others have mentioned in the thread, as soon as you start warping, your ship will uncloak, giving you a chance to target them.
However, also as it was mentioned, if it's a small ship, it will align very fast, making it very hard to target before it warps out (specially if you're in a big ship and not using more than one sensor booster). Big ships will also warp out almost instantaneously *if* they're loaded with nanos and inertia stabilizers (happened at least once to me last night while trying to engage a raven that had just jumped into the system). Even if you lock them before they warp, they will simply mwd out of your scrambler/webber range, unless your gang has measures in place to deal with nanoships.
It's just one more thing about nanos/istabs that's annoying, but you can always find ways around it.

I don't "have to". Simple fact is that i'm at work. Bored. I read your thread, saw a flaw in the logic and wrote a response i thought might help. If nothing else it might have invoked a response as to why i read your post wrong.
Instead you said my post was boring and you didn't read it (which is odd because if you didn't read it how did you know it was boring?) then continued to flame me.
Ammused i continued to read and even responed to your "queries", which you flamed...
As to why i posted on this topic, i think that kind of answers itself.
There, i hope that answered your question? (and undoubtably its to long and you're just going to flame me again!)

I think it's time for all of you to shut up and let this thread die...
OP made a mistake in how he thought the game worked, as have all of you at one point or another while learning to play EVE...
Give it a rest, you guys don't impress anyone...

If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |
