All Clear

Having been convinced recently by this forum's unwashed masses that I had A. done nothing to earn my hi-level RnD agents, B. sat on my tuckus and used pure dumb luck in getting a T2 ship BPO, and C. somehow unbeknownst to me joined a dastardly 'cartel' by simply following market forces...
I'm now wondering whether or not we're seeing nascent cartels forming amongst the recent T2 lottery critics. I mean, as much as a billion+ for a ship data interface?? Five hundred million+ for a data interface BPC?? Four hundred million+ for an encryption skillbook just to build a particular type of interface?? Not to mention the obscene prices on T2 rig components... A fine upstanding, T2-BPO-lottery-griping 'friend' of mine offered to sell me a single T2 rig he built from a BPC that got thrown his way by some of his shady business partners. He wanted more for the single rig than I paid for my hulk, and we all know how damning hulk pricing has been in the recent forum drama.
In that we're already seeing this kind of abuse as soon as the other foot slips into the proverbial shoe, my sense of the ironic may well explode unless CCP disenfranchises some new victims. Lord knows the answer isn't increasing the seeding/droprate of these newest indecently priced commodities. The answer is clearly collective punishment. Bend over, Invention... er.

Uh, do you even know how data interfaces are seeded? To form a cartel they'd have to contact everybody and their alt that's doing exploration -----

There is no cartel, because there is no supply limit other than peoples' time. Everything you need can be found by you through exploration, and in any case the prices you're quoting are a couple of months out of date - the only people paying a billion for an interface these days are suckers.
As to T2 rigs, they're going to stay expensive until either the build reqs come down or the drop rates on the parts go up - that's a straightforward supply limitation, albeit again not one that's really susceptible to cartels.

The idea that new cartels are forming was a tongue-in-cheek statement.
Perhaps I was trying to be too subtle.

On the plus side... if you have a good ship bpo, you still win eve forever more... the rest of the peons can only make bpcs at crap me while you can research your BPO up... sure you cant make 25000% profit anymore but you can still screw people for a lot of isk.

It occurred to me while I was typing my post, but when I reread your post it wasn't at all obvious that it was intended satire. Some more outrageous things should have been said, like naming specific players that have nothing to do with invention or stating that the cartels really ARE contacting everybody to confirm a cartel :p -----
