Edited by: Fire Giant on 08/03/2007 17:09:23 If for example I am in a BS that has a cloaker and I target someone in 0.6 space volley off 6 cruise missiles and cloak will Concord still find me and gank me as if I was not cloaked? Just curious and never tried it but if being cloaked and others cant see you does Concord if you act aggressively in Empire 0.5 and above space?

Edited by: 0raven0 on 08/03/2007 17:11:01 Well if you are at a gate or station you will be insta-locked by the sentries and be unable to cloak. Not sure what would happen in a belt ect.. ------

The thing is, even if it did work (which btw I highly doubt), the most likely scenario ends in your account being banned. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:

Doesn't matter, if you attack someone (that isn't a war target) in 0.5+, you need to lose your ship. Getting away is a bannable offense, so don't try it.

If you manage to avoid death by concord when attacking someone in HighSec, the GMs will look it up in the logs, destroy your ship manually and possibly ban you. Just fly a cheap, insured ship and have a hauler nearby.

I dont plan on trying it...esprcially with implants in but I was just thinking "what if's" while bored at work.
By the way......where does it say its a bannable offense, if its even possible anyway? If the game allows it right or wrong its called Gamey and not my style anyway. Macro mining is also bannable and we see it all over the place but there never banned are they?

You can't cloak if concord or the police are after you. Trust me, I've tried.

It's been awhile since I've been Concordokkened, but I'm pretty sure they spawn right on top of you, so the swarm of Concord ships would invariably uncloak you, then make with the webs, scrams and loud music.
And like others have said, you really don't want to be the guy who gets away from Concord. Concord will come whine on the forums about your 'sploitz, and since all the devs are in Concord, you can guess whose side CCP will take.

I know police ships jam your cloaking devices, so when you try to cloak you get an error about being unable to do it, so concord probably do the same thing. -----

Your absolutely correct. In my sheer boredum I didnt even think abt them jumping right on top of you and not being able to cloak or them uncloaking you as a result......so you see the game mechanics are working!!............hehe

So far as I am aware you cannot cloak while someone has you targeted. or is it being activly targeted?

You've never flown a stealth bomber have you ? There is a few seconds grace time after you cloak that your missiles can still hit and do damage.

Yes, but if they're close enough to the target, they still hit it.

Wrong answer. You can fire cruise missiles and then cloak immediately, and your missiles will still hit a target up to 30k away (depending on skills, target speed, and his relative heading).
Of course, if you do this and somehow survive a concord wtfpwning, its a bannable offense so youre likely screwed if the recently ganked person petitions you.

Hey, now, if you can cloak to avoid CONCORD, that doesn't mean you're escaping. You're just delaying your own destruction...just sit there a while and argue with the GMs that you're going to uncloak and be killed eventually.
Then again, IIRC, there was a corp that brought a dread into high sec, had a bunch of remote reppers/shield boosters on it, and let it fight without getting killed. They got some bans I think...so even a supertank is disallowed...but come on, eventually you'll die. Especially, using this tank, since now anyone giving shield/armor is also flagged. ============= Gate Camp: Originally by: Marcus TheMartin Think of it like fishing with a machine gun while in a tent full of people that won't shut up on ts

IMO i dont think it should be a bannable offense, its a game wheres the fun in NOT being able to get away from Concord, if they catch you then pop, your done end of story, but it should be like a car theft the police run you down, if you get caught you get caught, if you get away you get away... fair enuff

On a somewhat related topic.
If there is an individual with a -10.0 sec rating, and he is flashing red in empire, will concord try and get him also? Can said -10.0 individual warp through gates and not get attacked by sentries?

from personal experience...
sentry guns ignore you unless you have an active global aggro timer running (or an aggro timer for the faction controlling the gate guns)
contrary to popular belief CONCORD does not attack outlaw players in highsec. it is the local police forces (Republic Security Services, Sarum/Ammatar Surveillance etc) that attempt to destroy you. evading these ships is not an exploit, not petitionable and not bannable.
ive run through 0.9 systems (with a -7.5 sec ) in a triple i-stabbed rifter, never even saw the police ships. but if they do catch you (or a player scrambles you before you get into warp) they bring on the pain :( its possible, but if you lag out you die.
to recap: sentries ignore you (unless they would be shooting at you), concord ignores you, only the local security forces attempt to kill you (in ships only, they dont podkill) and its possible to skip through highsec systems with relative ease with a fast agile ship

It's still certainly possible to escape Concord justice. It's just that it's an exploit to do so.
I don't think that cloaking will do it as Concord doesn't need to see you to spawn right on top of you, thus breaking your cloak.
