with allainces now having many Motherships and possibly multiple Titans I just came up with this idea about 43 seconds ago.
The "Capital Outpost" would allow Titan and Motherships to dock in it, and would be quite the industrial masterpiece, taking possibly 3-5 times more mineral cost that a Titan to build, idk, just an idea
anyone like my idea or have comments?

While I'm normally a big supporter of high-end content I don't think this would be a good idea. Motherships and Titans shouldn't be given the ability to dock. They shouldn't be just another ship in your hangar but instead should require the time/character commitment on top of the isk.
Interesting idea though.

it seems to me though, once you own a Mothership/Titan, you are forced to stay in that ship until it explodes. Yea I agree they should take massive player dedication, but if it cost 150-200bil to setup a capital outpost, only the most powerful alliances would be able to afford them. Also this outpost would become a MASSIVE target for enemies because you know it would be where the Mothership/Titan force would be centralized.

Edited by: Tulisin Dragonflame on 09/03/2007 06:05:33 It'd be an interesting big "new unachievable project" once Titans start to become more common. For such a superstructure it'd have to grant some pretty amazing benefits though, perhaps the whole region would remain under the control of the owning alliance unless the superbase was destroyed, might be cool to have some sort of NPC militia benefits (they'd just patrol around the constellation/region and attack/kill things on a blacklist), maybe even the ability to track an enemy fleet anywhere in your space, no more suprise attacks.
Edit: Oh, and some sort of enemy cyno-blocking ability to that system unless they set up some sort of boosted cyno.

Well I agree in some respect with a super structure that would allow a mothership to dock, but not a Titan.
Perhaps an outpost that is also 3-5 times bigger than the current flavour, can also offer more services and will obviously require a lot more minerals.
Instead of making them insanely uber with different functions, make one style of "super station", maybe even make it on the style of a Jove one, it can be a true relic to an alliances greatness and resourcefulness
It could also allow the creation of motherships, have refining and manufacturing arrays, basically like an all you can eat empire hub station in the heart of 0.0 --------------------------------
My Comments in no way reflect my corp or alliance |

why not Titan's as well, surely a superstructure such as this should allow all things to dock. Even Titans.

At first, yes, cap maint array can scoop the titan in. At second, I have one plain idea to post about POS's, just need some calculations before posting. -- . |
